Very enjoyable. puboflyons (590), New Hampshire, USA May 22, 2008 From a 12 fl. oz bottle with an blurred, indistinctable expiration date that looks like 05 05 10 . Pours a hazy golden tone with some off white head. The aroma is very unusual but also very yeasty. I think I noticed something fruity. The flavor is also on the yeasty side and carries a bit of a punch.. The marketing campaign says this is named after the ship used by 17th Century explorer Samuel de Champlain. For better of for worse, Samuel de Champlain is credited with discoverng the state of Vermont (where I grew up) and giving it its name "Verd Mont," which in French means Green Mountain. The state’s slogan is the Green Mountain State. Just a bit of trivia. As for the beer, it is above average but not something I would drink frequently. fluffy (229), Florida, USA May 22, 2008 bottle into glass. dark yellow with decent head. smells of citrus and honey. flavor is tropical and citrus fruits, mildly yeasty. gains in depth as it warms a little. great balance of hops and malts. a great beer. couchand (182), Iowa City, Iowa, USA May 21, 2008 Hazy golden, persistent creamy off-white head.
Spicy, somewhat fruity aroma, light and curious.
Spicy, lightly alcoholic, slightly sweet, fruity and tangy.
Immediately light and playful, ending thick. TheBeerBaron (218), Florida, USA May 18, 2008 Light cloudy yellow color, dense white head that dissapates and a torrent of bubbles storming to the top. Peach, bannana and apricot aroma sits above a wheat and lemon base. A big fruity smell. Mildly acidic pinapple flavor stands above the potent alcohol content but you know the 9% is there. Masterfully done. Like many high content belgiums there is a very bubbly palate. Another complete stunner from Unibroue. elihapa (1034), Honolulu, California, USA May 13, 2008 1/18/08 notes: from 12oz bottle. Strong fruit aroma of citrus, spice, banana?, This aroma was more intense than other unibroue offerings. High carbonation, a good body and very smooth, thick, sweet fruity finish. Very good. KimJohansen (6678), Copenhagen V, Denmark May 12, 2008 Hazy yellow with medium white head. Sweet aroma with yeast, coriander and overripe fruit notes. Sweet flavor with notes of overripe fruits, coriander, yeast, caramel and malty notes. Ends sweet with warming alcohol.
