hoppopotamus (182), Santa Cruz, California, USA Apr 21, 2008 A hazy golden beer with a large fluffy white head. I got some clumpy yeast sediment from the pour, which is unfortunate. The aroma is quite tart, with light fruit notes (apple, citrus). The taste is citrus as well, and bready, a little yeasty, with some belgian-y spice. Tastes quite like a strong wheat beer, reminds of champagne, as previous tasters have noted. The mouthfeel is very effervescent, and the alcohol is well-hidden. Not my favorite unibroue, but well worth a taste. gator2683 (133), Anchorage, Alaska, USA Apr 19, 2008 pours a hazy gold with small white head. smells of sweet pear. tastes slightly dry, very fizzy. a good amount of citrus, and it leaves a sweet flavor on the tip of the tongue EnSiFeRuM (501), Quebec, Canada Apr 18, 2008 Bouteille de 341 ml.

The visuals are a bit lacking. jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Apr 14, 2008 Bottle: Pale gold pour with a small, fizzy white head. Aroma is fruity and estery. Little bits of yeast. Flavor is much more fruity, some apple and citrus notes. Light Belgian spices and a underlying yeast presence. Rather soft in intensity. spud1987 (46), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Apr 14, 2008 Part of a blind taste test with Trois Pistoles and La Fin du Monde. My least favorite of the three. Still good though. One thing that stood out was the effervescent nature of the beer. Alcohol was a little too strong to be enjoyed, especially compared to the other two I was trying. slf245 (50), USA Apr 13, 2008 Updated: Apr 3, 2009A super citrus blast, unexpected at first, but palatable once you’re used to it. A bit too much of a wine-like taste in there, though. Upon second attempt, a year later, not so happy with it. changeup45 (782), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 13, 2008 Not bad but falls short of the last Unibroue I tried (Trois Pistoles). Pours a hazy orange color topped with a thick white head. The aroma is nice, that of a strong orange juice. Fruity, floral, yeasty and a bit sour and tangy tasting. High alcohol content, and they do a decent job hiding it. It’s a good beer but not a great one.
