Poured slightly hazy golden... good amount of carbonation... crisp fruity tart... brought to mind champagne.... the new champagne of beers ScottB (73), Bristow, Virginia, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Updated: Oct 28, 2008Bottle. I’m disappointed. This is the first Unibroue that didn’t blow me away from the outset. I got nothing on the nose. Maybe it’s me. Poured hazy gold. Nice head dissipated quickly, leaving a little lace. Flavor is funky and fruity with a tart finish. Carbonation is a little sharp for this flavor profile, I think. Maybe this will be better the second time. chicagobears (336), Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 15, 2008 Pours a hazy gold into my La Chouffe tulip. Aroma of tropical fruits and spices. The taste is full of fruity esters. I detect a bit of tangerine and lemon in the flavor. Kinda sour and tangy. Seems to have some wheat in it. Pretty good. kevd193213 (486), Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA

Pours clear gold, white head. Aroma is funky, musty, tangy: dried fruit and cheese. Flavor is similar, but has a bit too much banana and sugar sweetness. This would be better more salty, bitter, and dry. TheCaptain (544), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Cloudy orange with refermented yeast at bottom of bottle. I should have used my trappist glass, rats! Light foam head that disappeared quickly, no lacing anywhere. Mildly sweet Ale with a sugar fruit taste, hint of orange-citrus fruits, carries into the pallet. The yeast, I’m talking bread yeast, hops, and alcohol mix with light carbonation to give a delicate sweet balance. Very nice. mgumby10 (1850), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Pours a very nice looking cloudy gold orange with a puffy, cloud-like pearly white head. Smells of sweet Belgian candy sugar, tropical fruits, and that traditional Unibroue yeast. The flavor is mostly sweet, with a good dose of the candy sugar and sweet fruits meshing together. Carbonation seems even keel, to go along with the fizzyness on the back of the throat. Very refreshing and not too sweet which I was afraid of considering alot of their beers are ultimately on the sweter side. Really nice drinking Belgian ale. The bigger alcohol is almost masked perfectly, I almost get no detection whatsoever.
