Don de Dieu means "Gift of God". The Don de Dieu was the ship of Samuel de Champlain as he was commissioned by the King of France to explore the vast and inhospitable land called America.

Bottle - Sweet apricot and some honey like notes. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Sweet stone fruit and a nice fruity sweetness. No booze at all which is surprising, but lots of fruity sweetness.

It pours a cloudy pale orange color with a white, creamy head. It has aromas of biscuit, toast, orange, pear, floral, and spices. The initial flavors are of pears and oranges. It also has flavors of biscuit and toast. There is a bit of floral elements as well. It has a medium feel and textures with a moderately bitter sweet finish with moderate carbonation. It does have a slight bit of alcohol warming, but not to the degree to suggest that it has a 9 ABV.

A nice fruity berry beer. Pours a cloudy orange with a white head. Smells of berries, mostly strawberry and citrus. Taste is much the same. Lots of strawberry and raspberry with a smooth Belgian background. Not tart at all, very fruity. Had in the bottle.

341ml bottle. Hazy amber, effervescent bubbles and a foamy white head. Flavors are bread, honey, vanilla, pear, orange, apple, almonds, alcohol and spices with floral notes. Medium body, lively carbonation, slick texture.

Bottle in San Diego. Classic tripel yeast fruity esters. A little sweet, low bitterness, how I personally like a tripel, but got a little cloying towards the end. Still, a nice tripel.

Smells sweet and fruity. Pours a cloudy gold/orange colour. Thick head that disappears quickly. Taste is sweet. Absent of alcohol. Lots of carbonation. No lingering aftertaste. Overall I was very impressed. I purchased as part of a holiday mixer pack, and I will again. Awesome beer. Highly recommend. MB The Beer Bearon

Robe dorée légèrement trouble, aucun col de mousse. Dentelle inexistante.

Don de Dieu is French for "Gift of God" and Unibroue is apparently French for "brewer that likes pretentious names but can get away with it because their beers are legitimately great." Er, so that’s a bit of a loose translation. However, Don de Dieu is not a loose translation of the Belgian Abbey ale. It’s golden and effervescent. Sweet bread-like malts, spices, subtle fruitiness, and a bit of earthy hops show up in the smell and taste profiles. Body is silky soft and the 9% ABV is covered nicely. While it’s more simple than you’d expect, the execution is lovely. This is a Unibroue product to the core.
