dmtroyer (409), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 24, 2007 12oz. Pours pretty typical belgian hazy orange, thinner white head than some. Aroma is a bit lacking, mostly menthol from the alcohol. The body makes up for it, though, with banana yeast, cider, corriander, touch of clove, allspice, and custard. A bit sweet, but this has some killer carbonation that really sets this one apart for me and makes it extremely drinkable. Easily one of my favorite North American "New World" attempts at the belgian strong style. Pwn3d (1040), Manhattan, New York, USA Nov 23, 2007 Updated: Feb 13, 2008SO OWNAGE! 12oz bottle with a couple bros of mine on thanksgiving. This beer tops them all... highly recommended and truely a gift of god. tronraner (1906), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Nov 22, 2007 750 mL bottle, best before May 2010. Pours cloudy gold with big whitish head. The aroma is quite yeasty, with bread, banana, spice, and funk notes; there might be some lemon zest in there, too. The flavor is pretty clean, really. Some sweet honey and hay notes start it off, then it picks up a few fruit tones and a tinge of acidity. The finish has those yeasty tones that are in the nose, but to a lesser extent. This is dangerously easy drinking. wetherel (1565), Encinitas, California, USA Nov 21, 2007 $2.50 bottle from Shea’s Brewing stored unrefrigerated on the shelf. Best buy 10-12-07. It’s expired, I guess that means it’s good. Pours with soda like head of large very rapidly dissipating bubbles. Cloudy orange yellow color. Very belgian triplish characteristics, including malty corriander nose. Logan mentioned that triples age just as good if not better than other beers, and for some reason don’t show signs of oxidation like other beers. Leans sweet. Maybe a bit of orange peel. No bitterness. Great mouthfeel, medium to heavy body. guil0000 (99), New Brunswick, Canada Nov 19, 2007 Updated: Jul 30, 2009Poors a big white head, nice smell of fruits, taste is very sweet and so smooth for a 9% beer. Very enjoyable! naivepegasus (183), USA Nov 17, 2007 Pours a light murky orange with a few fingers of white head. Strong odor of cinnamon and clove. A light initial taste that grows into a sweet aftertaste and well hidden alcohol. Tastes almost like a sweeter tripel instead of a strong ale. JB175 (1654), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 16, 2007 Golden color with a light head. Aroma is very sugary with some citrus and candi sugar. Flavor is very trippel-sh with a duvel-like quality (I don’t mean its as good as Duvel). Good overall, and no hint of 9%. Chapel (329), Levittown, New York, USA Nov 16, 2007 Hazy golden copper color. Yeasty slightly floral aroma. Strong corriander and clove taste with a bit of hop finish for balance.
