Dezzilu (211), Whitmore Lake, Michigan, USA Feb 23, 2007 True story: I was enjoying the wonderful fruity smell of this beer so much, that I actually snorted a small bit up my nose and almost gagged. My wife laughed herself silly. Anyway, the aroma is truly wonderful and reminded me of a good fruit cocktail. I thought this was a lambic, and not a strong Belgium The taste lived up to the smell, and the finish was quite wonderful. The only thing holding this beer back is the somewhat faint color. Probably the best beer I have drank with this much alcohol (9%). Drink with caution but, by all means, drink. Long live Canada, home of some of the best beers in the world. Cheers. MrBendo (1039), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Feb 19, 2007 Cloudy amber with a medium head. No lacing, and the head retention wasn’t there. Aroma of musty, belgian yeast, apples and white wine. Tastes amazing, with a spicy zest and a bit of alcohol warmth. Well balanced flavor. Sweet. acid, bitter. I love it. Slayer85 (582), Firenze, Italy Feb 17, 2007 33 cl bottle. A blonde/orange beer with a small white foam. The aroma is fruity (especially orange) with a hint of alcohol. The flavour is very sweet, too much for me and fruity with peaches, oranges and malt. Also some citrus notes. But the alcohol is too evident and there’s too much sweetness that’s a little cloying. I am not a big fan of Belgian wheats too. An average beer, surely not my favourite from Unibroue MikeHernandez (50), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Feb 15, 2007 This ale pours a medium sized, frothy, white head that is mostly diminishing. The body is yellow orange in hue and the clarity of the body is cloudy. The aroma is magnificent! I picked out bread malts, grain and/or cereal malts, a dough like yeast smell, clove, alcohol and possibly banana. The initial flavor is sweet, yeasty and fruity. I tasted a hint of clove in the finish. The duration was average. This ale is medium bodied, creamy in texture, average carbonation and a smooth, delicious finish. This is a marvelous Belgian style ale! One of the best of this style I have ever tasted, and this is indeed a hard style to compete in. french tickler (642), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada Feb 14, 2007 Drank in a tulip glass. 750 ml dated Dec. 8th 2006. Cloudy light brown/orange poor with a lively light brown head. Aromas of bananas, caramel, passion fruit, allspice, floral, citrus... Definite taste / aroma match. You can feel the alcohol but not taste it, balanced mouthfeel with a long lasting dry banana aftertaste. This is one of the very few beers where i just fall in a state of fullness, hapiness... This beer is extremely young and still has ALOT of good aging left in her, i remember a 2004 i tasted a while back and this beer was a close 10 for the aromas.... gwpom (246), Akron, New York, USA Feb 13, 2007 12 oz bottle from the variety pack. This didn’t aroma as ’white’ as the appearance suggests. Cloudy golden amber, with not as much citrus nose as some of the others in this pack. Hefty white head, and a strong firm first taste. Some citrus, but not as overpowering as in most whites. Definitely like this one. Much more distinctive. And at 9%, this one will do it for me tonight. As the beer found it’s way down the glass, I was able to detect a definite banana flavor. Superb beer from this top notch brewery. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Feb 11, 2007 Updated: Feb 21, 2007bottle - Pours hazy golden with a thin head and fine carbonation. It has a light yeast and citrus aroma that reminded me more of a wit than a stronger ale. The citrus notes come through well in the flavor, which is fairly light and sweet. If I hadn’t looked at the bottle first, I wouldn’t have guessed that it’s 9% abv as that’s deceptively high. It’s lively on the palate, medium bodied, and quite refreshing, I definitely enjoyed this one. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Feb 6, 2007 The color was a very nice, foggy golden/orange. The head was thin, fizzy, and white. The aroma is alcoholy, citrisy, yeasty, and tangy. The flavor was very upfront in its spice. There was also alcohol, citris, and yeast. The palate was nicely carbonated. The finish was clean and warm.
