JK (2946), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Dec 21, 2006 Very much like a tripel. Hazy, golden color. Some fruit, lots of w sweet malt and sugar. A hint of peach and some coriander. The high abv is well hidden. Sincere (145), wichita, Kansas, USA Dec 18, 2006 12 oz bottle, pours a pale and murky orange body with a rather large head, despite a careful pour. Very active carbonation. Smells strongly of banana with a hint of nuts, honey and peach. This has a very sweet and doughy nose, wonderful actually. The taste is very punchy at first, only a bare hop with a graceful transition into a fruity and sweet banana ending. Smoke lingers in the background. Very complex and bubbly on the tongue, yet not too astringent. Despite the high alcohol content, very smooth on the stomach. FezMonkey (268), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Dec 18, 2006 pours a cloudy orange color with a big foamy head. Aroma of bubblegum with a sweet bready / fruity flavor. A nice tasting brew. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA Dec 17, 2006 Bottle. Cloudy dark orange/burnt sienna color with a moderate frothy off-white head. Aroma of commercially jarred applesauce, bread dough, and a non-descript fruit vinegar (pear cider?). Bready malt and fruit flavors with a bit of lemon tartness and spicy alcohol warmth on the finish. Medium to full bodied with a good amount of carbonation, though it kind of "waters out" in the mouthfeel at the end. OK Belgian style ale. xav33 (313), Midland, MI, Michigan, USA Dec 13, 2006 Unibroue Don De Dieu

Poured a hazy golden with a large fizzy white quickly diminishing head with lotsa bubbles.
Smelt of strong honey, apples, lemons doughy bread.
Taste was upfront strong sweet honey, bitter mold or sweat yeast and some sour apple followed by a moderate bread and sweat bitterness on a pungent alcoholic long rotten mushroom yeast finish. Palate was light to medium bodied, fizzy, oily and strongly astringent on the finish and moderately alcoholic.
Overall, a light feeling strong ale, that reminds me of a moldy gym sock. Heathen (723), Riverside, New Jersey, USA Dec 13, 2006 Bottle. Pours a golden yellow-orange with a large white head that quickly became just paper thin. Small particles were visable in the slightly cloudy body. Yeast and lemon aroma with some white wine. It kind of reminded me of a dry apple wine. Extremely dry at first. I don’t know if I just became used to it or if it was some of the yeast going in on my second pour, but suddenly it wasn’t as dry. There were white wine flavors and some apple. A lot of carbonation on the tongye. Not bad but not nearly my favorite Unibroue brew by far. bp (452), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 12, 2006 Bottle purchased at Vinter Wine Market (NYC): darkish hazy orange color, aroma of pear and apple, flavor is a bit fruity and light, a little fizzy aftertaste. Pretty good strong ale but I’d take a # of other brews over this one. JonMoore (1561), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England Dec 11, 2006 Bottle. Hazy darkish gold colour with a slim and then gone white head. Aroma of oranges and other fruit. Fruity taste again dominated by oranges. Some yeast and remarkably well masked alcohol which is detectable in the warming finish.
