UPDATED: MAR 5, 2013 Very good beer. Smells strongly of green apple and has a great fruit and caramel balance. A well done and complex brew.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
10-month old bottle from the LCBO. Cloudy apricot colour with white soapy head. Nose is Belgian yeast, banana, pears, some spices. Taste fresh and yeasty with fruit esters, some bitterness and tart notes. Drinks like a tripel. Pretty good.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a cloudy golden amber topped by a generous frothy off-white head showing moderate retention and fine lacing. Some very vivid carbonation is spotted during the first few minutes after cracking it open. The nose has the Unibroue signature yeasts with spicy and herbal notes and a touch of apple. You also get awesome fresh lemon peel and some caramel sweetness. The taste is caramel paired with some butter notes where the yeasts add their spicy and earthy touch though a full body. The brew offers a lingering pillowy fruity finish. Cheers!

Bottle from Harvest Market.
Lightly hazy deep golden color with a huge frothy white head and a huge amount of stickies and carb bubbles.Fruity spicy earthy yeasty, has that Unibroue sameness but it just works, nice brew.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
From bottle. Maybe mine had sat a while. Poured fizzy white head like champagne but completely dissipated without a trace in a minute. Oily, no lacing on glass. Coloru is apple juice just a slight haze. Aroma is alcohol and fruit. Taste is medium to strong sweet. Some peach and apple.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
341ml bottle. Pours a light hazy pale gold with an off-white head. Right out of the bottle the nose lets you know this is very much a member the Unibroue family. Yup. There’s the yeast, with very prominent green apple/apple juice, cloves, spice, doughy notes and light sultana raisin. Tangy apple, spice, mineral notes, light white grape notes, and yeast up front that leads into more spice, some definitely alcohol burn, with light malt and citrus in the finish. Honestly, this tastes VERY similar to what my brain remembers La Fin Du Monde being (with the additional apple notes), and that’s definitely a compliment. Another solid beer from Unibroue that I would buy again in a second.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours hazy deep gold with some particulate, one finger of white head diminishing rapidly to a thin skim, no lacing. (3/5) Nose is bready yeast, apples and pears, spices. (7/10) Taste is moderate bitter, mild sweet, mild tart. (7/10) Light to medium body, prickly to moderate sustained carbonation, and a dry mildly bitter and tart finish. (3/5)
Some cidery apple notes and a doughy, bread-like yeast initially dominate the flavour. As that fades, there’s a moderate bitter and a mild tartness that linger. Despite the quick recession of the head, there’s significant champagne-like carbonation that persists all the way to the end of the glass. The high ABV is seriously well-hidden, making this a very sneaky sipper. The character is about what I’d expect given its long cellaring, but that’s by no means a negative. That being said, I’ll have to try it again fresh, just for comparison. (15/20)

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
