3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pours a hazy orange with a thick but rapidly dissipating white head. Nice fruity aroma. Tastes of pear and lemon with a rich malty aftertaste. Palate is bittersweet with a spicy finish.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Transfer from BA review on 1-6-13-
Poured from 750 ml bottle into a wide mouthed chalice glass
Appearance – The beer pours a nice golden orange color with a medium haze and a one finger white head. The head has a good level of retention and fades slowly over time to give a small level of lacing.
Smell- The aroma is wheaty and of orange citrus. These pleasant and stronger aromas are accompanied by a yeast cake, coriander, clove and banana aroma as well. Overall it’s a nice blend of a spicy yeast, fruit and wheat smells.
Taste – A big wheat and orange flavor greet the tongue. Spice notes of coriander and nutmeg then join the other two flavors with the sweetness of the orange drying up some to produce a slightly more crisp flavor in the mouth. While it seems to dry out in the middle, more toward the end, once banana and yeast flavors along with an increase in the orange citrus come to the tongue, the brew sweetens up again. A light alcohol flavor also makes itself present at the end leaving a nice warming Belgian triple taste of citrus, yeast and alcohol along with a nice grainy wheat flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the brew is a little on the thinner side while the carbonation level is a little on the higher side. The mouth profile is very nice for the style as it makes it quite drinkable and is nice for the very citrus flavors of the brew.
Overall – I think this is a nice triple wheat or BSPA (which I view as having overlapping taste profiles and characteristics). Unibroue never ceases to disappoint. Lots of great citrus and wheat flavors along with a nice spice and warming feel.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750mL bottle. Pours a hazy, yellow-orange, massive white head with excellent retention, okay lacing. Very nice carbonation. Nose is mild funk, apples, chardonnay, hay, pineapple, earth, grass. Mouth is medium bodied, mildly sweet with some fruit and spices, bread dough, touch boozy near the finish. Very quaff-able. Oui, oui monsieur Champlain.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Cloudy, bright orange pour with a small creamy white head. Aromas of oranges, peaches and some subtle spices. Very fruity flavour, notes of orange, peach, some candied fruits, Belgian yeast, some coriander and other spices. Tastes like a Belgian witbier with a much fuller body and a bit of boozy heat. I suppose this is technically a wheat tripel. Quite nice.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a yellow with some head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is malty, sweet caramel with grassy notes and fermentated fruit. Taste is quite sweet and slightly bitter and dry aftertaste. A great balance between both, and not much hint of the strong alcohol content.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from backlog notes. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have Belgian yeast with the typical Unibroue spin, apple, pear, mild to moderate spices, moderately sweet malts, a hint of earth.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle pour. Cloudy golden, large white head, good lacing. Bready aroma with bananas, oranges, and light spices. Medium body. Interesting taste that seems like a mix between a tripel and a summer ale. Nice mix of spices, but includes a strong citrus aftertaste.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a slight hazy bright orange with a fizzy white head that dissipates quickly and leaves little lacing. Aroma of pitted fruit and malt sweetness, along with Belgian yeast character, a slight wheat tartness and mild spiciness. Taste is toasted malt with light fruit and mild sweetness. Some earthy flavors with clove spiciness, mild pepper and a faint wheat tartness. Finishes with some alcohol warmth and some light spiciness. Mouthfeel is crisp and light/medium body with high carbonation. Flavorful and tasty if not overly complex with some nice alcohol warmth. This would be a good fall beer.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very cloudy yellow amber.
Quickly disappearing head and longer lasting lace.
Sweet, Indian inspired spices.
This is a better version of Monk in the Trunk.
Spice accent is easy and light up front and a clean finish.
Not a bad summer ale.
Lower rating because I’m not a fan of spiced beers yet this one surprised me.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Just not a style I enjoy a lot, though I can appreciate that many, many others love it. Color is orange/brown with a big head. Aroma is banana, clove, sour yeast. Taste is more complex and I do taste the coriander I’ve seen mentioned, along with orange. Palate is quite highly carbonated, which you’d expect for this style. Very good example of the style, the style just isn’t my favorite.
