It pours with a thick meringue-like head which reminds me a lot of Duvel’s head. It’s very sparkly, with tons of carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass. Bready, yeasty aroma with bright banana and clove notes. Smells like a German hefe but with more yeast. Rich flavor and mouthfeel. Lemon, yeast, and white bread. The alcohol is evident in the finish. Head was thick, rocky, and white with good retention and lacing. Fruity aroma of distinct pineapple, some citrus, and a whiff of banana. Effervescent and slightly sweet on the tongue. Lots of fruits and spices in the flavor including mandarin orange, clove, subdued pineapple, alcohol, and white pepper. There was also some yeasty bread dough. Great beer. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 14, 2007 Pours a slightly cloudy pale straw color, with a frothy one finger head that fades to a thick cap and leaves behind a decent amount of lace.
Smell; very similar to a hefe-weizen. Bananas, oranges and cloves are all present, as well as some wheat.
Taste; once again, very hefe-weizenesque. The oranges, bananas and cloves are there, with a little honey sweetness, ginger and plenty of other spices. Not quites what I was expecting, but still very enjoyable. Mouthfeel is on the light side, and very easy to drink. This would make for a good summertime beer if the alcohol were not so high. patrick767 (2058), fort wayne, Indiana, USA

It has a light yeast and citrus aroma that reminded me more of a wit than a stronger ale. The citrus notes come through well in the flavor, which is fairly light and sweet. If I hadn’t looked at the bottle first, I wouldn’t have guessed that it’s 9% abv as that’s deceptively high. It’s lively on the palate, medium bodied, and quite refreshing, I definitely enjoyed this one. hippie4beer (162), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 3, 2006 Bottle. Pours a beautiful clody, whispy honey color with a medium sized carbonated white head. Aroma is very fruity, apricots, bananas and notes of corriander. Flavor is tart, yet, almost souring. Very complex flavors. Yeast, grapefruit, and wheat to name a few. Carbonated mouthfeel, alcohol is hidden well. robinvboyer (1444), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada
