Fruit, malt, and some alcohol spice on the aroma. Semi-sweet but not a thick palate like most sweeter brews. It’s OK.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 5, 2010 bottle corked and caged with a date of 08/06. pours a really nice pale gold with some color, produced a tall lumpy and frothy head that was just off white. the body is slightly cloudy and bubbly with a bright oarnge color. the aromas are yeasty almost like a lambic, there is some bitter apple smell, slight hop bitterness, but really light. it is light to medium bodied with a sweet overall taste. it finishes a little watery and the aftertaste is light and doesnt linger. the alcohol content is very well hidden, enjoyable beer that is a little light, and could pare up with a wide range of food. dagimp (140), Philly, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 5, 2010 From a 12oz into a snifter. Pours a hazy golden wheat color with two inches of foamy head which dissipates quickly leaving very little lacing. Smell is of yeast, pineapple, grass and cereal. Mouthfeel is medium but the carbonation is too high right out of the bottle. After the carbonation dissipates, the beer really shines. Taste is sweet but not syrupy. I taste banana, yeast, grass, bubblegum, some oak and spices. It’s a very good beer at a pretty reasonable price considering the abv. I’d definitely drink again! rags2rags (34), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 4, 2010 Bottle into Chimay trappist glass. Pours a hazy, bubbly orange with a sizable, fluffy off-white head. The scent is somewhat boozy with notes of banana, apple, pear, and other hand fruits (courtesy of the Unibroue yeast). The taste is similar; sweet at the beginning and finishing sour. The palate is nothing special besides a little bit of spiciness, but such is par for the course for this brewery. Pretty good, but I prefer the Trois Pistole and La Fin du Monde. Pours a hazy orange colour, with a thin head. Tastes exactly as it smells, very fruity. Slightly bitter (mainly due to AC) but an overall sweet taste. Alcohol taste is a bit too strong for my liking but overall a good beer. darrennelson12 (38), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 30, 2009 In bottle; typical Unibroue aroma of yeat, almost appley. Taste of apple, peach and pear. Overall a good beer. Considering it is 9%, it does not have AC taste. Good choice Papillon (217), Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2009 750 mL Bottle sampled Dec 26, 2009. Murky yellow-gold body with a frothy white head, lively carbonation, some lacing. Intensely yeasty-grainy aroma with notes of banana, apricot, melon, and a sharp pineapple-like tang. Intense bold flavor, grainy with a fruit salad-like accompaniment of peach, banana, green grapes, and cherry that mostly subdue the hops. There are expressions of cloves and allspice in the aftertaste. Banana, peach and biscuit dominate in the finish. Very smooth in the mouth. A sipping beer. chickenflea (30), Oviedo, Florida, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 28, 2009 12-oz bottle. Pours a cloudy light gold with a big white head. Fruity aroma with plenty of yeasty goodness. Apricots and apples with a touch of tangerine. Nice and spicy. Feels creamy, yet finishes dry. Mild sweetness blending into a hint of sourness on the finish. New to this style, but I must say that if this is indicative of other Belgian strong ales, I am looking forward to more of the same. Highly drinkable. Toxygen (413), Sanford, Florida, USA
