UPDATED: MAY 21, 2011 Sampler from bottle at <a href=http://ratebeer.com/Place/illinois/orland-par Orland Park, Well, I will tell you. It pour nice and cloudy, and deep gold. Suitably Belgie taste; touch of bubblegum and pale red wine. But there’s a metallic tang that I don’t quite figure. Guess I’ll have to have another one when I can.

It’s cloudy and lacking in head retention but it smells the shit. Unfortunately, it tastes like bland, slightly alcoholic apple cider...too bad.

Smells sweet and like hay. Pours murky yellow with a thick head. Tastes sweet like a wheat beer, lots of fizziness popping on the tongue.

341 ml bottle. Pours a veiled goldenish straw with a resilient white head. Aroma is oranges, tropical fruits, belgian yeast. Flavor is fruity (oranges, mango, pear), vanilla, cookie dough, spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger). Light bitterness, mostly tart finish. A touch of booze, lingering tropical fruits. Very sweet. Medium to strong body, slightly sticky mouthfeel, medium to strong carbonation. Very strong, yet very drinkable. A classic.

Sweet and spicy with a mild floral aroma and finish. Maintains a head and stronger than it tastes on the way down. Not the ideal choice with pizza but sometimes you gotta play the hand you're dealt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle into a Duvel tulip. A: Pours a mildly hazy golden-orange color. The head is a foamy four-finger white shade. It has an amazingly fluffy texture, but very little lacing. S: There are a lot of typical notes I expect of a good BSPA (such as apple, pear, and candied sugar.) But I love how the wheat gives it an unbelievable smoothness to it. Grassy and funky qualities helps provide some rock-solid depth to it. T: The first thing I note is Unibroue’s typical yeast profile - which I can never fully discern on the tongue, however I can note that it provides a grassy, sweet, yet vaguely salty opening. The faint candied sweetness bleeds into the midtaste, before a finish of wheat and even some mild hops envelop the tongue. It’s deep ’enough’ to be interesting, yet simple enough to go down easily. After all, isn’t that what you want from a tripel/BSPA? M: The lush, creamy softness at first sip turns into a vaguely dry astringency on the back end, but ultimately it’s fairly sweet and syrupy - this quality also seems to conceal the carbonation slightly. There isn’t any trace of alcoholic qualities on the feel or flavor; you could even say it drinks like it’s 6%. O: It’s a bit like La Fin Du Monde, but with wheat. Enough said, really.

Bottle. Fruity banana-peach, yeasty wheat, and spice aroma. Cloudy honey gold with a moderate white head. Flavor follows the nose - banana-peach, wheat, and spicy Belgian yeast. Medium body, lively carbonation. Alcohol very well hidden.

Pours a dehydrated urine color with a pretty white head. Strong aromas of clove, white pepper, spices. Wheat. Pretty freaking spicy. Taste is similar - spicy yet dry, with a lingering spicy aftertaste. Wowza... Too much spice for my tastes.
