Cirrhosis (550), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 10, 2009 "Body appears yellowy cloudy beige and a think rocky noisy cap sits on top, the retention is phenomenal and leaves behind thick layers of lacing. Aroma is sour wheat, orange maybe, yeast, mild spice and floral notes, smells ok nothing great but it’s very acceptable. Very wheaty taste that’s mildly sour, a soapy alcohol flavour comes through in the finish. The mouth feel is medium bodied with a sparkling carbonation feel. Beer is now warming and a banana flavour is showing through along with mild lemon pepper, the after taste is clean and sweet. This tastes like your typical Unibroue but is a little lighter flavoured and easier drinking. I’m enjoying this and would buy it again."
pintbypint (954), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada May 28, 2009 750ml corked brown bottle. Golden pour, lots of sediment/floaties. Head is white, fluffs up big upon pouring but recedes rather quickly, a small ring of foam is left at the edge of the glass. The aroma is fruity, sweet, rpeachy,,some madarin. Flavour is sweet, fruity as well with orange notes and the now almost too familiar Unibroue house yeast signature, Ends dry with more yeast. Medium bodied, tingling strong carbonation. Bottle came floating from overseas, it took a while to get here. Head vaporizes into thin air. Dark golden, sweet triple. Hops not very present, slightly off present after taste. Far over the top. A pity. My appetite for old beers diminishes every old beer I drink. kappldav123 (1567), Markkleeberg, Germany Apr 3, 2009 The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass is very zippy. First gulp is washy, but becomes better to the end. Nice yeasty and dry, prickly and a bi scratchy finish. Not bad! asheft (1154), Marburg, Germany Feb 7, 2009 [bottle--thanks Tico]
Strong spicy with some banana, white grape, and yeast. Hazy, orange-copper with lasting off-white blanket. Spicy black pepper as part of the Unibroue house/yeast flavour. Dried fruits and some banana. Medium to light body, moderate carbonation, sweet and spicy finish.
cgreb (143), Marburg, Germany Feb 1, 2009 bottle - (asheft) Hazy orange beer with thick brown head. Fruity aroma like banana and peach. Strong and fruity flavour. Gary (294), London, Greater London, England Jan 16, 2009 Not as good as their La Fin Du Monde . : Its an authentic take on the style, with their own in house yeast character ,that’s a customary signature. Malty, dry and spicy-just like most Tripel ales. fruity (apple ,orange peel) in a dry ,floral kick. Some yougut vibez in there . grandgenie (250), gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jan 11, 2009 Updated: Jan 22, 2009Dégusté avec frech tickler le 22 novembre 2006.
Drank in a tulip glass. Nice amber body. Normal white head. Nice hoppy aromas, coriander, oranges, bread, alcohol, spices, pears on a nice background of good cork. Good balance between the sweetness, bitterness and sourness. Good carbonation on a good caramel background. Thick to the palate, alot of body. This was a 2004 750ml bottle, this beer ages nicely and i wouldn’t have any issue having it age longer.(8,4,9,5,17)= 4.3 Dégusté dans un verre de duvel et acheté à la SAQ car cette bière est vendu exclusivement à cette endroit. (7,4,8,3,15) = 3.7
