robinvboyer (1419), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Jan 26, 2007 Updated: Mar 20, 2007i really enjoyed this. typical caramel color. huge thick head. nots of dried fruit, and lots of caramle, nice and smooth, very sweet. great stuff. DanBerg (59), Alkmaar, Netherlands Jan 9, 2007 Very weird beer. Had a small (nice looking) bottle and I thought it was enough. It was tasting a bit like champagne. The aroma is too much alcoholic if you compare it with the ABV. Maybe I should give it another try sometime. JayBaxter (386), Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester, England Jan 5, 2007 Hazy golden amber beer with a small but lasting white head and an absolute glass full of floaties. Aroma is lovely full of sweet, spicy alcohol-ness and the flavour is sweet and fruity with the 7.7% felt in the finish. mansquito (819), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Jan 5, 2007 I guess this means holy water and the beer lives up to the name. It pours a light cloudy amber colour, with a nice big head that leaves pretty fast. Smells all nice and spicy and fruity. Tastes of cloves and spice along with a cornucopia of fruits. Like every other Unibroue beer that I tasted, the high gravity was concealed behind the rich taste. Little dry aftertaste. Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 31, 2006 Bottled. A hazy orange beer with a fast dimihishing beige head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of fruit, both fresh and stored, but also yeast and some dusty hops. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of fruits, especially peaches, but also a touch of mango and figs, but the alcohol is also felt immediately and grows in intensity, so you taste it too. The end is smooth with notes of fruit lingering. Inspite of the 7.7% ABV and the noticable alcohol presence, the body seems thin. sayravai (3720), Helsinki, Finland Dec 30, 2006 (Bottled) Hazy orange with a smallish head. Wheaty-grainy aroma with slightly sour and papery banana-fruity hints. Neutral-malty, slightly sour, dried-fruity and lightly grainy flavor with orange peel and honey. Pleasantly dryish, yet sticky and quite full-bodied, refreshing palate with medium carbonation. A nice and balanced tripel, although it could be even more fruity and less papery - maybe that has something to do with the corn. oh6gdx (8798), Vasa, Finland Dec 26, 2006 Bottled. Hazy nutbrown colour, small white head. Aroma is nuty, yeasty, caramellish, banana and spices. Flavour is fruit, spices, yeast, slight malts and hops. Alcohol gives a warming sting in the flavour also. Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Dec 24, 2006 Managed to put myself through soem after a nite of heavy heavy boozin with the arse of a boy garethyoung, well he did open this and not drink it all once i was asleep. Aroma is heavy fruity yeastyness, with candy sugar kickin in, some floural spice off the hops. Taste is similar, quite a kick off the alcohol, but nice.
