highlandlad (1258), Sydney, Australia Apr 24, 2005 Poured a muddy bottle-conditioned gold colour, with a vanishing head. Light, fruity nose with some underlying spice. Lots of quenching sour-sweet fruit intiially and then a big alcoholic kick. Like Coopers Sparkling Ale on steroids. Decent but not one of the brewer’s best. (Bottle) JensenTaster (1585), Denmark Apr 18, 2005 (on bottle) Must say that the commercial discribtion on my bottle fitted perfect; something like this:" Small fruity aroma and a slightly spicy finish". The usual vanilla-like yeasty taste in this brew too. A bit too sweet for a triple in my opinion. piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Apr 11, 2005 Cloudy and dark gold in colour. Lots of carbonation. Aromas are of yeast, various spices, and banana. Flavors are fairly sweet, like a hefe, but dry up with a nice peppery finish. Solid but unspectacular. BBB63 (4199), La Porte, Indiana, USA Apr 4, 2005 Hazy yellow hue with a fading fizzy head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of apricot and pear, heather and wildflower, light pepper and clove, candi sugar, and a dose of leathery esters. The taste starts sweet and mildly fruity but not to much. A light bitterness and spice add some depth of palate. The feel is not as heavy as many Tripels, lively and crisp with a dry finish. A touch of alcohol shows upon finishing the glass, kind of refreshing really. Overall, not a bad take of the genre and quite quaffable. I enjoyed this more than expected. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Mar 25, 2005 Cloudy yellow color with a puffy head that dissapears pretty quick. A quick sniff gives me yeast and lemon zest. The taste is the good part with cloves, banana and pepper. Medium bodied with a nice hop bite. hobgoblin (163), St-Épiphane, Quebec, Canada Mar 18, 2005 Bottle. golden color, with bubbles and light white head fully diminishing but fair lacing. yeast and fruity aroma. High carbonation, taste of yeast, alcohol (strong) and acidic on the finish, light citrus, quite refreshing, not bad.
dortmunder (961), Herdecke, Germany Mar 1, 2005 Bottled. Fruity, orangey and malty aroma. Malty, in a way that I found typical of North-American beers I have had so far. Fruity, spicy, orangey taste with some light herbal notes. But a somewhat sweet maltiness dominates, which sets is apart from the belgian triples I´ve had. Mediumbodied, good mouthfeel. I like it very much. Thanks to yogi beera and pivo for this excellent beer. footbalm (1218), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Feb 21, 2005 Noce cloudy golden brew.At first I get cloves and aromatic spices, then some fruits:pears maybe.Taste is alittle flat but the fruit and spices are there, just not much
