Dauber810 (20), USA Feb 28, 2004 Cloudy golden color with an awesome finish. One of the better tripels I've ever had. Unibroue turns out another winner. Eructoblaster (1477), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Feb 13, 2004 Nice dark gold hazy beer topped with an almost creamy brew that unfortunately disappear very quickly. Interesting and complex nose and flavor dominated by spices, malt and some herbs I cannot identify. Alcohol and bitterness reveal themselves mainly on the final. This is definitely one of the best Tripels you can find outside Belgium. jayme9874 (756), Hamburg, New York, USA Feb 11, 2004 (12 0z bottle) Slight hazy, dark yellow, decent head and lace, the soapy variety. Interesting nose of honey, herbs, flowers, sweet malt and others. Medium-thick bodied, slightly syrupy, sweet, very malty, slightly grainy, not very spiced as far as i can tell but evident, hints of apple, herbs and alcohol. Pretty nice triple, a little reminicent of duinen, although its been awhile. Hoppy bitterness and drying in finish. A nice twist on style. Wiseblood (658), Clarksville, Tennessee, USA Feb 3, 2004 Pale hazy gold with lots of foam. Mild floral-orange hop aroma. Slightly sweet and fruity overall with a pretty soft touch. The majority of the beer’s character is in the second half of the palate where it turns a little sharper. It finishes off slightly dry, with a good measure of bitterness thrown in. The aftertaste mellows out pretty quickly leaving you mostly with malt but also a little citrus flavor. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 23, 2004 Bottled. This was a good tripel. Had a good spicy flavor to it. matta (1137), Tampa, Florida, USA Jan 22, 2004 Look Dave, I’m cleaning out my cellar for this trade to come in! This 750ml bottle was sent to me from the Canadian rater Rastacouere, Thanks Very Much!
Cork reads: 03 -1 ** Pours a beautiful foggy golden body with a soapy white film of a head. The nose and flavor bring a sweet tang of honey wheat bread. Slight doughy and yeasty notes, suggestions of oak, coriander, almonds, and tobacco. A very light and refreshing beverage, orange zest and sage, remnants of parsley?
An airy late spring county garden, flowers in bloom and a cow patty on you boot. It’s kind of barnyard, but pleasurable, Thanks Rasta! nickchalk (229), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 15, 2004 Golden hazy orange colour, almost no head. Aroma hit me first as a bunch of green apples, but then it calmed down to yeasty citrus. The flavour is well spiced, and the green apples make another appearance in the finish. Medium body with heavy carbonation. I like this one over a lot of their other blonds. Bottle. RichardGretton (3128), Leicestershire, England Jan 12, 2004 Dark amber Belgian ale with very creamy and thick head. Light bitter and fruity aroma, and a watery tart flavour. Overall a good drink with quite standard Belgian strong beer qualities.
