4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 SPDickerman (326) - Texas, USA - FEB 1, 2012
Pours clear, bubbly golden with a small, bubbly white head. Smells somewhat fruity with a hint of spiciness. Taste is primarily fruit sweetness with a hint of spicy effervescence. Light-bodied with a bubbly texture and average mouth-carbonation, Unibroue Eau Bénite finishes with a some mild spicy flavors.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 keanex (191) - Williamstown, New Jersey, USA - JAN 11, 2012
From a bottle best before 8-23-2013. Poured into a Duvel tulip.
A: Hazy amber/orange with a creamy white head that remains through most of the glass. Very appealing looking.
S: Ripe tropical fruits, with a slight spice. Very thick/strong scent and inviting.
T: Sweet up front with some overripe fruits, slight hints of alcohol, and a slight spice at the end. This has a good balance to it, the sweet up front meshes well with the dry semi-spice finish. Incredibly drinkable here.
M: Creamy full bodied with a lot of fizzy carbonation. Fills your mouth and feels like I could chew it.
O: I love this beer, it’s delicious. My biggest gripe with it is that it’s only available in gift sets. Seek it out for sure.

Beautiful golden color. Yeasty, fruity, spicy nose. Complex mouthfulling spritzyness. As becomes warmer, this beer becomes more soft and the flavors become better. My advice, try it slightly under room temp. Nice beer.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 french tickler (642) - Aylmer, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 22, 2006
Drank in a tulip glass. Nice amber body. Normal white head. Nice hoppy aromas, coriander, oranges, bread, alcohol, spices, pears on a nice background of good cork. Good balance between the sweetness, bitterness and sourness. Good carbonation on a good caramel background. Thick to the palate, alot of body. This was a 2004 750ml bottle, this beer ages nicely and i wouldn’t have any issue having it age longer.

I think this is by far the best of all of the various Belgian-style ales by Unibroue. This one’s a triple, I suppose. U makes at least two other triples (Fin du Monde, Don de Dieu), both of which I find inappropriately sweet and spicy (coriander and orange peel belong in *witbiers*, not *triples*). Eau Benite is still on the malty side, but it isn’t inappropriately sweet. We seem to have here the aroma of American hops, which is unusual in this style of beer, combined with at least some malted wheat and obviously Belgian yeast. It’s a great combination, really: if you can imagine a strong American Pale Ale with wheat and Belgian yeast, you can imagine Eau Benite. Warning: it’s considerably sweeter than the standard Belgian triples (say Westmalle or Chimay), but if you will be rewarded if you sip this beer with an open mind.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Metalchopz (1173) - Quebec, CANADA - JUN 30, 2010
Sampled from Unibroue’s sample 12-pack (January 2005). Poured a hazy beige-golden-orange colour with sediments swimming around. The head was a nice white and creamy with bubbly lacing and long lasting. The aromas and tastes are signature from Unibroue’s beers on the lees. The nose was spicy and fruity with a small alcohol scent. The mouth was of sweet malts, honey and mild fruits. It was not bitter and the finish was smooth and clean. The mouthfeel was medium and not very carbonated. This beer is a great competition to the Duvel. It was a very easy drinkability for a strong ale.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 BeerLimey (2112) - California, USA - APR 28, 2002
UPDATED: MAY 29, 2003 Strong, malty, peppery, fruity with a slightly bitter finish. A must try for any beer fan and a good introduction to Belgian ales.
Unlike others here I didn't get the over carbonation.
