Poured a slightly hazy orangey-golden with lots of rising carbonation and a tall, creamy off-white head. Aroma was of soft, flowery notes and peppery spices with more distant layers of bread, candi sugar, and vinous notes. Flavor was of peppered-up sourdough and caramel upfront.. peppery spices throughout with mild floral bitterness.. sweet, peppery finish.. very tasty! Almost syrupy upfront and slicker across the middle of the palate.. spices carry it. Higher carbonation, but it worked well. ElPresidente1984 (173), Maine, USA

Arôme de pommes, poires et épices. Goût très fruité, présence notoire de pommes et légère brise de poirs, légèrement épicé, touche d’amertume. Selon moi, c’est la plus sous-évaluée de la gamme Unibroue. Vertical Bacon Strips (924), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Well, most of the bottle has already found its proper place in my liver. I can barely type. This is the 4th time I’ve edited it due to just brutal typing skills. Poured out a decent white, foamy cap with some patchy lacing... beer is probably hazy gold hard to tell at this point. Lots of effervecence. (yes, i have no idea how to spell that properly tonight). The aroma is very fruity - pineapples are the most dominant. How often can one say that? Pineapples? Killer! Bread and musty scents, something quite fragrant - no distinguishable spice at this point. The taste is just excellent! Soft, smooth, subdued spices mixed in with a nice musty taste that blends in with a faceless fruitiness. This beer is excellent. I am not a fan of Belgian Trips so the fact that this is a mild version of one really works in my favour. Smooth all the way through, soft spice finish. Man, Iove this stuff. This is not the best tripel I’ve had but I’m not sure that I have enjoyed one so fully before. jredmond (1090), New Jersey, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 4, 2008 Dark orange colour, very cloudy, with a small white head. Not so aromatic, only yeasty, some malt, orange, caramel, and herbs. Flavor is fruity and slightly sweet, with notes of orange and pale malt. Medium body, dense texture, sometimes creamy, with a lively carbonation. The alcohol has a warming feeling, indeed. Long aftertaste. kubilai (52), , Quebec, Canada
