| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 19, 2009 Had this brew for awhile but bought it already about 3 years old at a reputable dealer so I think it;s been taken care of. Aroma is ginger, strong ginger almost overpowering. Looks golden brown with some chinkies floating inside had a head that dissipated fast. Mouthfeel is silky almost flat (little carbonation). This is alright but a little too much ginger in the flavor for me to want to drink this more than once. Finish is clean but the ginger overrides most of the flavor during the drink, there is some citrus notes, some belgian yeast, and other spices. Alcohol well hidden, nice but not my favorite from this company. Cirrhosis (625), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 11, 2009 "Bottle carefully cellared in the “Beerium” for four long years then carried 10.5Km and up 850m in elevation then cooled in a pristine glacial lake, this is going to be good. Color is hard to determine since me and the cronic are drinking out of black tin cups, however the stream out of the bottle seems to be a golden yellow and a brownish crown sits on top. Mmmmmm…..yummy aroma. Smells sweet and ginger ale like, with a great mellow spice. Taste has lots of ginger and is more spicy then the aroma. Wheat and yeast are noticeable but hardly. Wait stop the review!!!!!! Gully has polluted this pristine lake with a cashew wrapper, he ran in until the ice water hit his man area then stopped, so we huked rocks at it in a vain attempt to sink it so no one ells will see this travesty. After taste is very clean leaving no lingering flavor. Nut starts to show up the flavor when warmer. Freaking great brew and was enjoyed in the most perfect setting I could ever imagine. Apperance: Cloudy orange with a small head.
Aroma: Citric notes, Tropical fruits, Yeast, Marmalade.
Flavor: Blackcurrants, Orange, Caramel, Earth, Berries, Belgian yeast.
Palate: Balance. The sweetness is more balanced now compared to the fresh version and have made it more complex but it is still very sessionable. Some bitterness at the end but it’s hard to notice :)
Damn, this was one good beer. So damn smooth and refreshing after 5 years. Wish i had a few more bottles! Recommended!

Aroma is pungent, with ripe fruit, bubble gum, and alcohol. Flavor has sweetness, primarily, but complex of candied orange, apricot jam, caramel, and banana. All flavor components meld together in a unique and tasty way. Finishes very smooth, fruity, and a welcome warming effect. Knowing Unibroue, I was really impressed at how balanced this was. Perhaps the age had something to do with this? sigma23 (241), , Maine, USA
