Very murky brown orange darkish pour, with very fine carbonation and a copious ivory head. Strong ester and fruit aroma profile, full of rich banana and pears, backed by a musky swirl of coriander, clove, and light tobacco aroma. Flavors are weak on the front end but blossom into this sweet candy continuation of the aromas. A rich, somewhat creamy mellow bready wheat and yeasts blended with masecerated cherries and raisins. Very sugary. Alcohol is well hidden in the beginning, but warms well on the way down. Good presence in the nose. Palate finishes oily and sugary, very coating and sweet cloying enveloping slick. Lots of good reminscents on the aftertaste, including apples, rum, and raisins.

Wow what a great beer. Shared by my brother-in-law, thanks R. Poured a hazy orange-brown with a some white head. Noses of orange, lemons, mint. Tastes similarly of citrus, a mild minty freshness that didn’t linger, honey and Belgian yeast. Creamy mouthfeel. A very delicious, refreshing, very unique beer. Of course you can’t get it anymore. Le sigh.

Bottle shared by Todd last night. Slightly hazy copper brown color with a smallish head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is filled with overpowering spices atop a faint brown sugary caramel malt base. The flavor is not a bit different. Medium to thick body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a sweet spicy mouthfeel. Not bad for a ten year old beer, but too heavy on the spicing for my taste

Bottle 750ml. Pours amber with no head. Aroma is of spices, caramel, sugar, mint. Taste is of caramel, alcohol, malt, spices, sugar, cardboard. Palate: Medium body. Overall: Good, but over the hill.

Bottle (750 ml). Acquired via trade. Clear dark golden with no head and no lacing. Aroma is spicy, sweetness notes, mint, chocolate, cardboard and Madeira. Taste is slightly sweet with mint, fruits, cardboard and chocolate. Medium body. Low carbonation. This beer was supposed to have been well stored but that’s doubtful considering how bad it was. Definitely past is prime.

Damico (2553) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 16, 2013
Pours somewhat murky amber golden with a white head. The aroma brings sweet Belgian yeast, big apple juice notes. The flavor some spicy yeast notes, clearly aged, and a bit of spicy malts, almost liqueurish.

Chipalsa (1307) - Florida, USA - JUL 25, 2013
Though a bit off, twas’ still a good brew. The pour was a brilliant orange with soft bubbles and a good ol’ Belgian head. It smelled like spiced orange bread. The taste was oxidated Belgian beer with a finish of old orange soda. Still pretty damn good, but because of the age and non-synthetic cork, perhaps a vacuum seal would do this longtime cellar-aged beer some good.

Bottle thanks to Keir. Cheers! Nose is light soda, sherry notes, melon, citrus, light yeast. Flavors are mainly the same with a more dark fruit and unripe melon flavor. Very soft carbonation. Not bad but definitely oxidized.

750 ml bottle shared at Natifest ’12. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a medium sized hite head. The aroma and flavor had sweet malts, yeast, citrus notes, perhaps ripe dark fruits as well, it shows its age with some oxidation. Overall, not too bad.

Clear amber with no head and no noticeable carbonation - looks like apple juice. Aroma is ginger, apple juice. Syrupy mouthfeel, sweet on the palate with a fruity finish. Taste is quince, pear, apple juice, marmalade, sherry. Slightly oxidized, definitely past its peak.

Bottle share. Holy fuck. A blast of peppery fruit aroma. Pear, plum, peach, apple aroma and taste. Thick suspension particles.
