Bottle @ Ølbaren. Pours a hazy deep dark brown colour. Sweet caramel soft roastish maltiness and dark fruits in the aroma. The flavour is sweet and roasty with caramel, dark fruits, some yeast and spices. Just lovely.

After the long await in the cellar, I thought this would be a perfect time to start of the night with this bottle. Loud pop from the cork and pour to the trappist was very aromatic and intense red wine that was smelled fantastic. After the initial pour tannins, dark fruit, brown sugar, mollasses and bubble gum all make their presence in the aroma. Initial taste is softly carbonated but splashes with mouth with lots goodies, candy like sugar, raisans, prunes and grapeskins. Mid palate begins to display some vinous qualities and also hints of cocoa. Finishing with mildly dry but sticky lips and mouthfeel and bitter hop grapiness. Average palate duration. Some head retention. Very enjoyable.

Cola coored with a fizzy tan head. sweet smell of rootbeer, mint type spices. Med. body with a foamy mouthfeel. Spicy sweet taste of rootbeer, mint, with a hint of molasses. The 10% abv is well out of sight. Very good. 42006

July 2006 - Dark color and a vigorous pour yields next to no head at all. Fresh from the fridge, this beer was almost sickly sweet. Dark fruit dominates with a weird taste in the aftertaste that reminded me of Worcestshire sauce, but my dad said it tasted like black currants (I’ll take his word for it). Got IMMENSELY better as it warmed as the spices came out and mellowed the sweetness. Also, a sour flavor emerged as it warmed that I found downright awesome. One of my more enjoyable Unibroue experiences, and that says a lot.

Bottle, thanks to EDA. Darker brown pour with a ruby hint. Aroma is spices, oxidized malt, and lightly sour fruit / alcohol. The flavor is the same, sweet dark fruit in the malt, raisens, and some slightly sour fruit also. Pretty enjoyable.

Brownish beer in my chalice with a short lived tan head that shrank to a lasting whisp. The nose gave me the odd sensation of yellow mustard, and now that I thought it I can’t shake it. Very fruity sweet beer. Lots of cherry, berry, winey, almost sherry, banana, and something a little tart. You can feel the alcohol and there is burn on the tongue. The finish show hints of a dark Begian sugar and grape. Interesting beer, but I don’t remember what it was like fresh.

Poured a hazy yellow color, nice long head. Amona of citrus, yeasts and alcohol. Over carbonated for my tastings. Tastes of hops, citrus, pins, sugar, carmel. Goes down thick with some carbonation. alchohol linger at the end of the drink.
