3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
When i popped the bottle the immediate smell of apples, no, green apples filled the room. Very mellow taste that wasn't nearly as strong as the smell. the flavor of the apples is more nuanced with a slight fizziness. A light wafery apple is all that's left dancing across your palate, playfully, and lightly lingering...making you think "gwood frickin' brew!"

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2003 NICE! Wonderful apple aroma stands out above everything else. Straw colored blond and slightly hazy. Smooth and refreshing apple, spice and malt body. Finishes with a slight dryness and spiciness. Impressive fruit beer!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cloudy sunshiny yellow with a medium, but ephemeral head. Bubbles rise to the top like a champagne. The apple taste is subtle but definately green apple. I am not a huge fan of fruit beers... but this one is subtle enough to be an exception. It has a silky mouthfeel for such a light beer, and the spiced apple taste is really nice.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cloudy yellow color with a big creamy white head. Aroma of apples, spice and candy. Flavor of apples, just a little sourness, and some yeast. Its a little acidic but less so than other Unibroue beers. Really drinkable and refreshing.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Like the label says, aroma of spicy apples, coriander, and curacao. The apples really add a nice touch to this wit. Their sweet/tartness matches perfectly with the light body and the spice. A beautiful summer refresher.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A cloudy light straw color with a large white head. Aroma of green apples( Jolly Rancher) is noticable as soon as the cork is removed. This dissipates quickly and the spices come out and it taste much like their Blanche de Chambly. Refreshing.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 8, 2004 Huge white head that provided excellent lacing. The color is hazy golden and it is thin to medium-bodied. Aroma of sweet and sour apples, spices, wheat and yeast. The apple taste in not "in your face" like some lesser fruit beer. Here it is a complement to the spices, malt, and hops. The taste finished somewhat clean (just a little lingering tartness). Dry and fizzy mouthfeel. This is what a good fruit beer can be, the best apple beer I've had (have not tasted New Glarus yet). Recommended for those who don't like fruit beer and those who do.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Light aroma, apple peels. Light color, like an apple juice. Some carbonation, not a lot, but apparent. I would have liked more apple flavor, but it was refreshing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Strong aroma of apples. Malt seems very carbonated/spritzery. Sweet apple flavor is complemented well by notes of spice and hops and is not cloying. Clean, carbonated finish.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: SEP 16, 2003 Hazy glowing golden under a very tall head that lasts and lasts. Fantastic fruity aroma - I really expected the flavor to be full on apple cider - luckily it wasn't. It was more malt, some of the herbal spiceyness, even a little hop now and then - the apple flavor is definitely there, but almost more of a compliment to the ale. Palate was smooth, but on the thin side; also very effervesent. This brew was made more enjoyable by the setting - the Cleveland Orchestra playing at Blossom music center 7/3/03 - along with fireworks and the sight of my daughter doing interpretive dances to Sousa marches. Excellent!
