A beclouded lemon yellow with the head voluminous in stature, color brilliant white, frothy in texture and as it dissolves a velum like sheet of lace forms to conceal the glass. The nose “Granny smith Apple” tart, with an underlying sweetness, fresh, crisp, clean and a real treat for the senses with the start sweet and the top middling in its feel to the palate. Finish is stinging in its acidity, dry, tart, hops present and understated as they should be, quite a treat as “Fruit” beers do not rank high on list of beers. Having said that I will definitely hunt up the other varieties, as it is quite intriguing.

Cloudy golden-yellow colour with a huge, bright white head. Sour apple, cider-like aroma. Sweet, sourish, cidery flavour. Not really my style.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of this one, which is saying something cuz I like fruit beers more than most. The fruit infusion is somewhat faint, and not terribly sweet for my taste. This is more like a metallic witbier with a hint of apple essence added. The HUGE rocky white head was a tad annoying but the spice in the finish was nice.

Vac (2445) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 9, 2003
Pours with a slightly cloudy golden body topped by a huge white foamy head with a good amount of lacing. The nose is slightly flowery and full of sour apple, with a slight hint of sweet maltiness and a touch of hops. The room was filled with the smell of apples. Sweet slightly malty flavor with a good amountof apple notes and atouch of sourness. Light bodied smooth and crisp. A truely remarkable brew. One of the few fruit beers I've actually enjoyed.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2004 Huge snowwhite head with tons of carbonation. Almost like champaign. Needs to settle for a while before you can get to the liquid. Wonderful aroma dominated by fresh green apples with a little bit of zesty spice. Color is a light gold. Flavor is tingly and a little bit spicy. Light crisp apple taste with a little hint of yeast. Finish is dry and tart. A decent fruit beer that is slightly sweet and has a good balance with the fruit. May go a little sour in the stomach though as time passes. Thanks to radiomgb for this one

MAP (1133) - Lakewood, Ohio, USA - SEP 4, 2003
Very strong smell of apple when opened, but fades to a comfortable level. Nice palate, which parallels what one might expect from such. Overall its a nice sweet falvor, but not too overdone.

Huge dry and dusty apple aroma. Massive, and I mean massive white rocky head (what do you exspect, its a Unibroue) Color is a pale cloudy yellow, almost like a fine english cider. Taste is apple and fruit, tart up front, bland middle with a light spice aftertaste.

bender (293) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - SEP 1, 2003
Very pale, golden body with a thin white head. A little lacing.
Yeast, apple and bubblegum dominate the aroma. Peppery, spiciness too. Maybe some lactic acid as the beer warms.
Tart apple, coriander and nice phenolic yeast flavors abound. Some bitterness but I don't think it's from hops.
Light bodied and crisp.

9/1/03: bottle.
stunning, sunshine-gold body with a fluffy white head. yeast, champagne and apple to the nose. flavors include yeast, green apple and some hops. dry finish with some added fairy dust. as beer warms there is more of a gala apple flavoring. enjoyable and bubbly.

Gorgeous brew. I could've become fixated on the lovely, tiny rising carbonation. Soapy, clingy head. Yeasty, spicy/sour (gueuze) aroma. Lovely, fresh apples abound but do not overpower the tripel-like qualities. One of the best fruit beers out there.
