Strong cider-like aroma. Initial pour has a bright golden colour with a moderate white head. Second pour is a bit hazier as the yeasties get stirred up. Flavour starts crisp and fruity, like a nice tart cider, and then slides into the standard yeasty Unibroue finish. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this, but I was pretty impressed and hope to try the other Éphémère varieties soon.

This is a real nice apple ale. The unibroue base beer is a wonderful compliment for fruit beers. It works rather well with the apple. Big apple aroma, big apple flavour and a typical unibroue finish in the beer.

Wow. Talk about awesome. It almost tastes like cider with hops. Really awesome. Why is it that breweries make their best beers as seasonals and one-shots?

Not bad but not my favorite unibroue. The apple taste is not really good.

My next door neighbour made a gift of this for housesitting, Thanks Mundy. Apples and wheat aroma. Hazy golden, huge white head, continuous swirl of bubbles. Tastes of apples, wheat and yeast. Refreshing tongue tingle. A combination of a German Wheat Beer, Belgian Ale and apples. Distinctively Good!

Troubled yellow with green shades. Apple and bubble gum aroma. A bit of apple, apple peel and yeast. A good beer but too candyish for my taste.

Looks just like a Hoegaarden or any other wit. The fluffiest, creamiest, smoothest head I have ever seen on a beer. Wonderful nose of cinnamon, dough and of course healthy apple notes. Unbelievably soft on the tongue. Does not assault you with the apples, but rather almost tastes like a with that someone dropped an Apple Jolly Rancher into and let it dissolve- slightly sweet, but tart with green apple notes.

Loads of green apples in this one. The aroma smells like an apple orchard. I could smell this all day. It’s a hazy orange colour, spicy apple flavour, with a spritzy apple finish.

Very cloudy light yellow color. Hints of mint and large apple presence in the nose. Minty notes in the body, spritzy, appley finish.

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2003 Chateau de Volgon Summer 2003, half a 750ml: Dense hazy straw color with thick small white bubbled head. Sharp (green) apple aroma, fizzy mouthfeel, after thinking about this beer, I realize my 3oz sample last year was right-on. No change in score. RateBeer Summer (Toronto) '02: Apple aroma could be smelled a meter away, up close it even smelled more of apples with some Unibroue yeast tones. Muddy dark yellow color. The flavor is a bit flat and acidic. It smelled good, but I'm not sure that I would want to drink a whole 750ml of this.
