On tap at the Bow & Arrow. I’ve had this several times now, forgetting to rate it each time. Nothing overwhelming, but a very tasty brew nonetheless. Heavy apple notes (no kidding) in the nose and flavour with a touch of cloves. Cloudy appearance, with a decent head.

Man, simply pop the cork and this already smells wonderful! Bottle at cellar temperature. This pours a light golden yellow in a snifter, with a large white, fading head. It’s well carbonated. The aroma is yeasty and dominated not surprisingly by apple. Really nice aromas: I keep wanting to stick my nose in the glass and keep it there. I think it pays to serve this beer like this: a bit warmer than I used to. There’s some lemon and fresh grass in the aroma too. The head has settled now at about a cm and is staying put. The mouthfeel is nice and spritzy on the tongue, bubbly. There are layers to this apple flavour: it’s like fresh apple pastry with the green skins still in tact, nicely complex and a bit sour in the finish. I picked up a sampler pack of eight ephemere bottles in 2004 and wish I could revisit them again.

750ml - Poured a slightly hazy pale yellow in color with a big foamy white head that settled, but hung in there with some minor lacing on the glass. Highly carbonated. Aroma is very strong of granny smith apples and bready Belgian-style yeast. Flavor also has plenty of the yeastiness, but the apple flavor is much more subdued. Thin on the palate with plenty of sparkle from the carbonation. Finishes with the slightly sour tartness of the apples. Enjoyable...

Another great brew, aroma has the familiar Unibroue begian yest aroma with apples. One of my favorite beers (gotta love the variety packs!) On an Unibroue kick tonight! Big cloudy golden/yellow pour with a huge fluffy white head. The flavor is like drinking a granny smith apple! with a slightly tart finish. Very special.

Very nice, if more wine cooler-eque than beer. Apple aroma overwhelms this very bubbly beer. Tasty, but perhaps too sweet. Enjoyable, but not an everyday beer.

I ran across this beer at one of the only decent bars in Salt Lake City and had to try it since I toured the brewery a couple years back but somehow missed this in the tasting room. Intense granny smith apple aroma with light delicate champagne like head and a cloudy golden color in the glass. Apple characteristics are much more subtle on the palette and the intense carbonation is very pleasant and refreshing. Pair this with an aged cheddar cheese, some good crusty bread and pate’.

355 mL bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear pale orange color with a thin fizzy head. Strong apple and cherry aroma with some musty yeast notes. Taste is wheat, yeast, apple and strawberry. Medium bodied.
