I’m not a white ale fan, but it came in the combo box of Unibroue beers I got, so had to try it. Yeast, apple (duh), banana. It seems more like a hard cider than a beer, but it doesn’t suck.

Bottle. Opaque, yeasty brown-gold. Green apple nose. Tastes more cidery than beer-- green apple, only notes of spices. A bit one note, though good.

A strong aroma of apple pie and vanilla with a hint of cranberry. Appears clear gold with a thin ring of white foam. Tastes of wheat, vanilla, apple and a hint of bitter hay. Palate is fizzy and mildly filling. Overall, nice.

Bottle from backlog notes 07/08. Pours a cloudy golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have tart apples, sweet apples, yeast, light bready notes. Better than ciders I’ve had, but not something I would seek out again.

750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden colour with a small, short lived, white head. Aroma is apples and yeast. Sweet flavour of artificial apple, yeast and citrus with a dry finish. Medium body with oily texture and soft carbonation.

~Grainy wheaty aroma with strong yellow and sour green apple aroma. Earthy hops. ~Pours a cloudy golden color with long lasting fluffy white head. ~Extrememely well balanced myriad of flavors, Corriander, grain, banana, apple, spice. ~Light fluffy body with high prickly CO2, lingering grainy apple finish. ~Very well crafted beer. Seems a lot of thought went into this one. I don’t care much for the apple, but do respect this beer. Refreshing and interesting.

12oz bottle. Pale golden color. Smells like sour green apples. A light taste of apples that ends bitter. Not bad, but not my favorite from them.

Awesome sour apple aroma with some spice and yeast. Taste is similar but a little scaled back. Nice crisp finish.

This is a review from notes just recently found. I poured some into a pint glass and some into a tulip. There really wasn’t much difference. The appearance was a clear golden yellow color with a fast rising carbonation seen rising to feed a one finger white foamy and bubbly head that ends up fizzling to nothing coating the top of the beer. Some light adequate light stringy lacing tries to cling to the glass. The smell has a nice amount of spiced apples with a nice allocation of peaches I smelled combined and coming through in a rustic sort of earthy way. The taste was sweet and yet still had a nice spiciness coming through to balance it just a tad. There is a slight apple-like aftertaste and a decent dried apple sort of finish. On the palate, it sat fairly light with a decent harsh like finish. It had a nice sessionable aspect to it. Overall, this is a nice fruit beer well worthy of having again and well worthy for a nice Summer’s evening watching the sunset.
