Unibroue Éphémère Apple

Picked up in Asheville, NC. Wonderful apple smell. Not like cider though. Nice gold color. Good flavor. Not too sweet or sour. Just ever so slightly syrupy. Overall, a good beer.

Hazy yellow pour with nice lasting head. Definite apple aroma, more so (thankfully) than on the palate. Tastes like a witbier with sour green apple notes instead of lemon. Slight spice. Very pleasant and easy to drink, but I don’t see myself going back to this often... but then again, the lower alcohol would make it great to have around on a summer evening...

Bottle. Slightly hazy, very pale body with a thin white head. Aroma is apple and cellar notes, almost a bit like entering a big cellar where lots of apples has been stored. Flavor is fruity, acidulous and a bit cider. Refreshing, but maybe some more beer flavors would have done this better. More like a curiosity for me.

Bottle. An almost clear, yellowish-golden beer. Mature apples dominates the aroma, with some spiced, witbier like notes in the background. The witbier is sure present in the flavor too, and the same is the apples, but more balanced than in the aroma. The finish has the same flavors. Some astringency in the mouth, and rather thin. The beer is nice in a way, especially after a way, but I find it too strange to repeat, but I won’t refuse to have it again. �)

Fairly sweet aroma of green apple. Flavor reminds me of green apple candy with some yeast notes. Nicely refreshing. Not a huge fan of fruit beers, but this one isn’t too bad.

Bottle: Poured a hazy brown color with no head to it. Lots of sediment in it. (not really a fan of stuff floating/sinking in my beer) Looks like a cider... smells like a cider... Tastes nothing like a cider. Finish of it is like biting into a sour apple.

This as a potently apple fragrant ale with a light and refreshing finish. Unfortunately there is not as much taste as the scent would lead one to believe. Overall however, this is one to try. Probably best enjoyed in the summer or a warm evening.

Pours a hazy yellow color with quickly rising thin bubbles. Smells like a spiced apple cider mixed with bubblegum. Tastes of sweet wheat and green apples. Nice and tingly on the tongue. Very smooth and refreshing.
