When tasting I am met with a light citrus lemon flavour with hints of green apples. This bier had a surprisingly high amount of carbonation that I quite disliked. This was quite disappointing compared with the seasonal unibroue range. NICE STRONG AND SOUR GREEN APPLE AROMA AND TASTE.
THIS BEER CAME IN A SAMPLER 8 PACK FOR 16 BUCKS. STICKER SHOCK, BUT WORTH IT. shalloWMeans (160), Independence, Kentucky, USA

This beer pours light gold, very hazy and bright, with a large glowing, frothy head. It smells like granny smith apple, spice, citrus, and clove, and is sweet, like a jolly rancher. It tastes of pineapple, passion fruit, and citrus tang, not as sweet as the smell suggests, but pleasantly light bodied and refreshing with loads of citrus and sour fruit, tropical flowers and coriander. The palate is very carbonated, like soda, and slightly thin but crisp like a fresh apple. It has a long finish and that is when the green apple really becomes apparent, as well as all of the flavors you would find in a wit-bier. I think they should have put a pineapple on the label, because that’s the most apparent flavor to me. I can definitely see this being refreshing on a summer day. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Unibroue is known for their extremley sweet Belgian style beers "on lees". Not this one. I love this beer because I love sour apple in anything (Jolly Rancher, Sour Patch Kids, etc.). Aroma was tops of anything I’ve had all year. All sour green apple. Pour was nice hazy medium gold with a nice one finger white head. Taste was very green app-ly with a litte malt in the background. As a fruit beer this can’t be beat. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 23, 2007 Wow. That was fairly awful. I’ll agree with Naven, the Decimator Of Ales, that this was not what I expected and definitely low on the Unibroue totem pole. Like that very bottom part that’s half buried into the ground. I bet chicks would like this though. I have testicles, so I couldn’t tell ya for sure. JChapmanMTL (15), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 23, 2007 341mL bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow. Aroma is sour apples. Flavour is simliar to the other Unibroues with the yeast, but with a strong sour granny smith apple bite. Very refreshing compared to the rest of their line up. Not quite as good as their other beers, but interesting for a change. Good if you like sour fruits. ShawnMalloy (119), Auburn, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 11/20 | Oct 23, 2007 Not exactly my favorite Unibroue product, but refreshing none the less. I always wondered what an apple beer would taste like. After a bad run in with something very green and smelly in a forty oz container called "Evil Eye" I was skeptical. My trust that Unibroue would produce something drinkable overtook my previous inhibitions about apple flavored brews, and I chucked out the 3 dollars and took a chance. What I got was your typical Unibroue signature big headed, extremely bubbly, light bodied figure, and a taste that only hints at apple and only hints at being sweet. The aftertaste comes to a screeching halt as you are expecting to be whisked away to a magical mountainous wonderland by a beautiful angelic woman... Maybe I’m just looking at the artwork on the label. I wouldn’t say I’m disappointed by it, yet I’m not entirely thrilled. Whatever it is, it’s still a lot better than whatever is in that Evil Eye stuff. Nihon (240), Vernon, Connecticut, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2007 Aroma of hard apple cider, yeast and peaches. Cloudy pale yellow. Flavor is light and acidic, of apples. Not my cup of tea.
