2.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Well, not doubt that this is an apple flavored beer, from the aroma to the taste. Not one of my favorites from Unibroue.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from the Grocery Store. Poured into a Shaker, hazy gold with a thin, bright white head that lasted about halfway down the glass but left some lovely lacing. Aromas of green apple, floral hops and Belgian yeast, flavours of apple, honey and wheat malt. Slight mineral undertone. Light bodied, slightly sweet, not bitter at all, soft carbonation. Ever-so-slight tartness on the finish. Nice, though not what I typically reach for when I open the fridge.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a heavily hazed yellow with a small white head that leaves some lacing. Nose is of candy apples, not as fake as Lindemans Pomme for example but not exactly authentic either. Taste is of lightly sweet wheat and apples. Wheat proteins. Body is light and carbonation high. Overall a fair wheat beer, enjoyed it less than the pear variant though.

A: Pours a slightly hazy pale yellow color forming a small and very fizzy white head that dissipates quickly leaving no lacings.

T: Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of sweet pale malts, vanilla, honey, flowery hops. Slightly sour. Very light bitterness. Metallic hints.
M: Light body and carbonation. Very fruity aftertaste. Persistent Apple notes.
O: Good drinkability. Something between a cider and a beer. Interesting.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Harvest Market, Bedford NH. Aroma is of Belgian yeast and mild tart apple. Appearance is hazy yellow with decent sparkle and 4 finger-width fizzy white head that dissipates fairly quickly and bubbly lacing that recedes. Taste is sharp nonspecific tart beginning, mellowing out in the middle and identifiably apple finish (like granny smith). Palate is light to medium bodied with somewhat sticky/chewy texture, brief lively carbonation at the tip of the tongue. Overall, not a huge fan of tart so not a beer I’d crave again but it didn’t leave me gagging like some do that go way overboard. If you like mildly tart and fruit beers, you could do a lot worse.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a light yellow color with an apple aroma. Taste is a light apple flavor with an easy dryness to it. A minor sweetness to the beer, that dissipates quickly.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This stuff smells and tastes like apples. Wtf else can I say? I get more ripe MacIntosh than Granny Smith on the nose, with that cider-y apple must (just a touch, thank god, because most ciders smell like halitosis to me). I also pick up something tart and vinous, like a beer, a cider and a glass of white wine are having a threesome. In my mouth. There’s also a bit of that particular yeast smell I get with most Unibroue beers.
Taste is tart, slightly sour with just a bit of sweetness. Tastes more like candy apples than it smells. Reminds me of childhood. The first time I cajoled my mother into buying me one of those shitty convenience store candied apples, with their tantalizing floor varnish sheen. And the disillusionment I felt immediately, when I realized, even at four years old, that those dime store candy apples are just a waste of a perfectly good apple. A bit of natural nourishment ruined by a shell of synthetic, syrupy sweetness. It was a small letdown, but one that would prove to be a subtle metaphoric primer for an adulthood of real disappointment and lament. This beer is pretty good though!

Pours a pale yellow color with a small white head. Has a big apple flavor, that isn’t overpowering with pretty heavy carbonation. Very good
