An apple wine coolerish parlor beer. Gimmicky and not full bodied. Spices are subdued.

Ardent black currant mist over green apple peel plenitude...Flowery effervescence delivering intense, bready, yeasty servitude...Quasi-tartness under sweet bubblegum interludes...

750mL corked bottle: Appearance is sublime. Gorgeous murky yellow robe with a ruby tone, very carbonated. The head is huge and white, frothy and most rocky with long-lasting fine thin lacing. Aroma is big, fruity, yeasty. The taste is wheat, cassis, raspberries, oranges, all about fruits and berries. Medium to full bodied, creamy. Crispy tartness (if that exists) loads the mouth. Slightly astringent finish around the gums. I'd have to take it side by side with the apple one, but I believe this is my favorite of the Ephemere line.

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2004 Very good in bottle. Fantastic on tap. Very prominent black currant aroma with an underlying mustiness of yeast. Very generous pink tinged frothy head that recedes slowly with patchy lacing. Cloudy orange-red body. Good fruit flavour that has a slight tartness to it. Spiciness and yeast character come to the fore in the finish. Medium body and fairly high carbonation. Mouthfeel becomes medium-full if allowed to warm slightly. Bottle/on-tap. On tap the fruitiness is somewhat more pronounced in both aroma and flavour and the head longer lasting. Bottle (8-3-7-4-16=3.8) On Tap at Bily Kun (9-4-8-4-17=4.2). "Average" posted.
