Uncorked a 750 ml bottle with a nice pop. Poured with a huge head. Color is a pleasing, cloudy pink. Aroma is not good, somewhat like unripened currants. Taste starts like blueberries, and finishes quite nicely with no after taste. I prefer the apple variety of this beer.

341 ml bottle from Trappe a Fromage, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Cloudy pink-amber with a fair light pink head. Aroma: An oddly savoury berry fruitiness, definitely blue fruit – blueberries or currants, light spiciness, light grassy/wet hay, Palate: Medium-ish body with lively effervescence. Flav.: Still lots of blue fruit, some wheat and wet hay, some light spiciness, quite nice actually; dry with minimal bitterness.

A great fruit beer.

Draught @ Bar Volo, Toronto, ON: Pours bright rosy pink, a small white/pink head that left quickly. Smells very sweet and sugary with a vat full of acidic currants. The sweetness is just as present in the taste, cloyingly so, coupled with an extremely watery consistency. I love Unibroue but I’ll hold this up as an uncharacteristic failure, especially next to the far preferable apple version.

Rosy yellow, champagne-like body. A tall pink head forms then fades while a steady stream of bubbles can be seen rising. A pleasantly sweet, soft aroma of fresh red fruits-raspberries and strawberries- a hint of brown sugar rounds it out. The flavor is almost nonexistent. Very watery and only a light hint of fruit. The palate is so thin and weak that even the effervescence, that is so clearly visible, is hardly noticeable on the palate. This turned out to be a drain pour, a flavorless waste.

On-tap at Chancey Smith. Pinkish-blackberry colour. Sweet aroma, taste is sweetish yet drying, a bit above average mouthfeel. Like a fruit wine and a beer combined.
