Bottle (750ml - corked). Shared with blankboy, my bottle from Premier Gourmet. Clear, continually bubbling amber with a large, lasting white fizz-foamy head. Aroma was sticky thick yeast from de-corking on, spicy, peppery, sweet, and nice blackberry character - very nice. Taste is something of a let-down - mostly water, mild cassis flavour, almost no beer character or spice, somewhat papery - if you gulp it down it seems to show a littlle life, so 6 instead of 5. Mouthfeel is extremely thin and watery, sharp carbonation yet not all that lively - it wants to be a little acidic, but there’s not enough flavour to pull it off. Too bad - it showed such promise, but blap - nothing.

Bottle from Super Saver. The pour was a nice hazy pinkish straw color with 2-finger white head. Nice aroma of heavy currants, blackberries, and raspberries. The palate was medium and fizzy, like a cheap wine cooler, and the taste was similar to a wine cooler, only not as sweet. Some black currant and blackberry notes in the taste, but not much else.

Best before 01/26/07. A bad showing. Poured pink-peach color with a ton of carbonation, lots and lots of head. Lacing was only due to the soda-like carbonation and was minimal. Aroma was of wheat beer and nice berries on top, almost a blueberry smell upon popping the cork. The flavor was wheat beer mixed with blackberry juice. Tasted like a bad soda. Mouthfeel was way over carbonated and felt like soda. Just like a berry version of 7UP. Nope, not me, never again. Soda doesn’t cost 6 bucks for 750ml. Not a good beer.

Pretty good, but not as good as the cranberry and apple versions. Nice on a hot day.

Reddish gold body with some cloudiness. A very sweet grape aroma, with some light yeast and malt accents. Slightly sweet taste, the anise and grapes combine to almost a peach taste. Sweet and cool ending.

Slightly hazy golden color with a large frothy off-white head. Sweet spicy flavor with some fruity notes. Sweet fruity flavor, very easy to drink

Very nice dark honey gold with a tinge of pink and a tight white champagne head. Smells like flavored herbal tea--a nice mixture of spice and juice like candy instaed of booze. The dark currant is evident along with lime and honey malt. Waxy. Very tasty fruit dominates in the mouht-curant, raspberry, lime, the crisp alcohol zip of a good Belgian, and grape. No real stages from front to back, but it leaves a nice tang in your mouth that makes you crave for more. Split a bottle of this with the ladyfriend over steak and we couldn’t have been happier. I cannot see the point of spending 30 bucks on a good bottle of wine when 6-7 dollars can get you something so wonderful as this!

750ml botle bought at Glenville beverage in 2006. Red-purple amber with a medium white head. Aroma is casis and malt. Taste is a little disapointing. Casis, crisp maltiness, tart with a dry finish. Not even close to the Apple Éphémère. 2009 341ml bottle. bought in Québec. Hazy pink with a thick foamy pinky head. Aroma is black currant, yeast, malt and a touch of pink grapefruit. Flavor is tart with black currant, yeast, malt, and a bit of soap. Better than what I remembered.
