hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Jan 6, 2006 Corked & caged bottle marked best before 012607. Rated at rating session in Naples, FL with flemdawg. White small fizzy head that mostly diminished with poor lacing, carbonated, cloudy, and an orange hue. Aroma was sweet, tart and sour fruits. Flavor was sweet, tart, dry and fruity. Tingly, fruity and dry mouthfeel. Light-medium body. restless7 (104), Lenexa, Kansas, USA Dec 29, 2005 Evervescent, like a fruity champagne. Very nice and fresh aroma. Makes you think about a nice warm spring day, lying in a hammock. And just like that fleeting, ephemeral day, it’s gone. npdempse (931), St. Petersburg, Florida, USA Dec 27, 2005 Peach colored, with a large white head that quickly disappears. Sweet, slightly bitter nose, dominated by currants. Strong currant flavor, slightly tart with a dry finish. can8ianben (903), Pasadena, California, USA Dec 16, 2005 Interesting, big frothy white head on a golden orange beer. Currents are much more present in the aroma than the flavour which I felt to be a little thin. The beer does have some nice bite, but little depth. Nice spice. kepano (239), Meudon, France Dec 8, 2005 Updated: Jan 9, 2006Éphémère Cassis could not be named more appropriately, indeed every aspect of the beer reflects the ephemeral quality depicted by the nymph dwelling on the label. As you pour the first half a beautiful melon-tinted topaz hue glimmers in the glass and the light salmon-colored head rises gently above a slightly cloudy liquid. The passing aroma is rich and fruity, black currant is of course prominent but raspberry appears in the background as well. The nose can be compared to lambics such as Lindemans Cassis but the flavor and mouthfeel are entirely different. A distinct witbier taste is instantly recognized by the wheat and chalk tones that provide a certain "beer flavor" washing out the intense black currants found in the aroma. The second pour produces a much darker, murky peach pink body ostensibly due to the yeast residue. Sweet berries initially caress the tip of your tongue but rapidly the sharp prickling sensation of high carbonation forces an early swallow and leaves only an unpleasantly chalky sourness. This contrast is exacerbated by the salty notes that appear as it warms. It is unfortunate for this brew to have such a disappointing flavor as the appearance and nose were alone quite promising. An easily forgotten beer. BennyTicklez (621), USA Dec 2, 2005 Pour pinkish with a small white head. Aroma is sour fruits. Taste is sour, raspberry, wheat. Barnyard aftertaste. Somewhat different than the other ephemere, better in my opinion. Decent mouthfeel. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA Nov 24, 2005 From a bottle. Pours a rather interesting shade of pinkish yellow. Just a faint hint of color that reminds you that this beer has fruit in it. Aroma is sweet and dominated by currants. The flavor is fruity without being overly sweet. Crisp and enjoyable. Lots of carbonation. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Nov 17, 2005 Hugh aromas of grapes.Smells like grape juice.Pours a hazy orange with a hugh pillowy white head.Flavors was a bit of sour grapes and some wheat. My wife enjoyed it much more than I.
