heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Aug 25, 2005 Light, almost peach colored head. The body is dark orange with copious amounts of bubbles. The aroma is rich with blueberries and raspberries. Honestly, I have never smelled a currant by itself. There is also a hint of rich bread. The taste is drier than I expected. It has a hint of champagne with some grape juice. There is also some light toasted bread crust. This is light and dry, a good aperitif. Not my thing, but if you enjoy dry sparkling white wines, you might enjoy it. notalush (2628), Denver, Colorado, USA Aug 21, 2005 Full aroma of grapes, raspberries, black cherries - cloudy golden with a slight purple-ish tint - very dry and tart - soft carbonation - a bit wheaty, with very faint grape/cherry flavors - a good try but it’s mostly uninteresting. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA Aug 21, 2005 Fruity, black currant/rasberry aroma...Not too sweet, not too dry. The flavor is not sweet at all, in fact, its mostly tart, with the "essence" of fruit. Its not very well-balanced, and there’s a very bitter, aspartame-like taste in the finish. This beer is just not for me. GirlyBeer (183), Biddeford, Maine, USA Aug 18, 2005 Bottle, at a bar. This is one of the best smelling beers I’ve ever had. Pours yellow with a nice, white head. I though the fruit flavor was a little bit lost in the overall hop and grainyness of the beer. Not a beer I’d be willing to pay $11 for again. Vac (2389), San Diego, California, USA Aug 17, 2005 Pours with an orange body topped by a thick head with some lacing. It’s sweet and fruity with wonderful berry notes and a slight sourness. Light to medium bodied and dry. Dalle (1146), Skørping, Denmark Aug 16, 2005 Bottle. Golden-red with bubbly head. Berries and some acidity, blackcurrant, again a refreshing ephemere though not that exciting. pobenohne (504), Northern Liberties, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 15, 2005 Big bottle. Fresh currant aroma works. Great fizz. Fresh fruit flavor (no syrup), some nuttiness. Great substitute for a lawnmower beer. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA Aug 10, 2005 Bottled. I had a hard time getting a handle on this. It was a fizzy light pink in color with a champagne head. The aroma and flavor was all currants but the mouth feel was thick with CO2 and the beer seemed to melt in my mouth.
