Not overlly sweet and fruity which I like fo a fruit beer. Currants, and fruity flavor. Finishes clean, crisp, and dry. kujo9 (1077), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Mar 19, 2005 750 ml bottle: Light amberish hazy body w/ a lasting, large, pillowy whitish/pink head. Lightly sour w/ a definite black currant aroma. Toasty wheat aromas as well, and it seems a bit catty & slightly white peppery spice. Well balanced and lightly tart. Black currant flavor is there, but is well balanced w/ bready malt flavor, herbal hop in the dry finish, currant aftertaste. High carbonation, smooth m/f, lighter medium body. This is probably the most fruit flavored Ephemere I’ve had, but it’s still well balanced and not completely dominated by the currants. Not bad for a fruit beer! Cletus (5052), Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 18, 2005 Pours dark. Smells lightly of black currants. Tastes more like a Belgian strong ale than a typical fruit beer. Not bad. kane (111), USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 13, 2005 This has a sort of a lambic touch to it as far as color and aroma but it falls far short in these categories when compared to comparable beers. Personally I find currants an odd choice as raisin beer does not sound that appetizing( considering the dried version is the most common form of this fruit in the US), but I can overlook that.
Pours with a hazy orange tinged color with a large light head. Aroma of sour grapes. I am reminded of Cantillon’s St Lamvinus as a grape based Belgian beer that for me lacks any real characteristic. Not really sour, flavorful, or colorful but rather below average in all categories. A beer that was "lost in translation" for me otherwise I would not of bught it. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2005 Yeasty Belgian style beer with light black current notes, lightly fruity, lightly hopped, long sour finish. I liked it, but somehow less remarkable than the apple Ephemere, less interesting than their other beers. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA

Keith-Happy to find this one. Light grape color added to this yeasty wheat beer. Just a hint of sweetness in aroma and taste. This one gets better as you drink more. I might save another bottle for a summer day. 11026 (1799), Alabama, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2005 Bottle. Reddish orange in color with a bit of haze. Decent white head has a little purple/red tint to it. Aroma is of currant and hints of malt/yeast. Very carbonated as are most Unibroue’s. Sweet and somewhat tart flavors from the currants. Somewhat spicey. Decent. Didn’t appreciate the carbonation in this one. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 9, 2005 Pours orangish with red tints. Tiny bubbles make up a huge white head. Strange yeasty aroma with some currant in the background. Flavor is very sour currant. Highly carbonated. Was a little dissapointed with this brew.
