A nice after dinner pour. Watching season 3 of Deadwood as I write this so I should really be drinking fire whiskey & swearing like a cowpoke. Nice brew: tart cranberry, unibroue stable yeast, & lively carbonation. Crisp finish. Recommended.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy yellow pour, small white head. Aroma of random berries..... Can’t say it’s distinctly cranberry. Some nice tart fruit aromas and flavours, the fruit isn’t over pouring, or too cloying. The fruit is slightly tart and quite pleasant. It’s clean and crisp. Refreshing and pleasant.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Une bouteille de 750ml. Une robe saumonée avec une mousse blanche. Un nez fruité avec des notes de blé. Une bouche sèche, fruité agréable et facile. Une touche acide en finale. Bien faite. Un retour en force pour cette bière disparue.

Aug. 3, 2014. 750mL bottle from LCBO. Big fluffy head that dissipated leaving a rim of bubbles. Aromas of sour apple, wheat and faint tart cranberry. Distinctive Unibroue aroma. Lovely refreshing taste, very crisp. Cranberry, sour apple, sour grapes. It’s a toss up if this is better than the Ephemere Apple; both are good.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750 mL bottle. (BottledMarch 31, 2014.) Lovely pour, as is expected from Unibroue. Golden with a medium white head and nice lacing. Mild bittersweet cranberry, wheat and yeast in the nose. Doesn’t give a lot away. More cranberry in the flavour, though. Unibroue’s base ephemere beer is, as usual, a solid vehicle for the fruit, unlike many fruit beers, where the base beer is bloody awful. I think I still like the Cerise better, though.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a large white head of fine bubbles, and considerable carbonation. Very acidic on the nose. So much so I expect this to taste like a lambic, but it doesn’t. Also, tart apple notes, light earthy black pepper, yeast, and very light peach candy notes. The taste is tartness, cranberry, red currant, red plum, and yeasty notes that leads into a almost watery traditional cider note (back when ciders weren’t syrupy apple drinks) with lots of red fruit, and a light floral note in the finish. I’ve enjoyed the various Ephemere’s in the past, but the tartness of the cranberry totally takes this one up a notch. Light, dry, and refreshing. Almost as good as the cassis version.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml bottle from LCBO. Toronto, ON. 5 5% alc./vol. Pours a hazy pale gold colour with 2 finger of lasting white head. Thick lacing clings to the side of the glass. Champagne-like carbonation
The aroma is mainly cranberries and apples.
Taste is quite fruity in the beginning, mainly cranberries, apples and white grapes. Finish is malty and slighty bitter. Carbonation is high.
