2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Very light watery pinkish yellow. The head is white, small and mostly diminishing. Sweet raspberry jam nose. Simple in mouth, most of the flavors coming from the sourdough-like yeast strain. Tries to develop tartness, but in fact becomes rather watery in the finish, a dulled drying out yeasty leafiness fighting off the fruits. Quite a welter weight on the palate, thin with soda-like carbonation. I guess some people may enjoy this, but I don’t catch much hedonistic potential.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy pale reddish hue, with a soft rocky white head, but falling quickly, with a concentred raspberry purée aroma, with the characteristic éphémère yeast, with a hint of berry and bubblegum, follows through on a medium-bodied raspberry fruity palate, with a yeasty, good acidity, big fruity flavor of raspberries, even sort of a milky note, with a tart an wheaty character, quite dry with a fruity tartness finish.

Tried it in bottle. Nice taste. A glass is needed to smell the raspberries. Directly from the bottle isn’t enough. The green apple one tastes more like the fruit (50% beer, 50% apple). This one is more like 75% beer and 25% fruit.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Poured a soft pink color ale with a huge bubbly white head with average retention. Aroma of raspberry is clearly dominant. Taste is overpowered with raspberry syrup, which is not something I generally look for in beers. Seems to me like they have mixed the Blanche de Chambly minus the coriander with raspberry syrup. Like the Cassis one, I find this really lack craftsmanship and resemble more like a beer/fruit soda from Belgium (i.e. Chapeau…) then some highly crafted fruit beer (i.e. New Glarus, Kriek de Ranke).

Bottle. Pink color, bubbles, big foamy white head. Raspberry and yeast aroma. Taste of raspberry, wheat and yeast. Nice palate, carbonation is ok, very nice fruit beer.

(330ml bottle) Purchased at Rahman in Montreal, Quebec. "A beer for the populus!" This beer will make a killing in Ontario if it gets released - its a fraction of the cost of Amsterdam Framboise ($11) and it tastes a whole lot better than KLB or any other mass-market Ontario fruit beer. This beer comes out swinging with fruit. It pours a quick-dissipating, white head and a cloudy yet lively orange-pink body. The nose is strong of sweet raspberry. Its highly-carbonated body emits raspberry fizziness on ones tongue. I picked up a mild EGG flavour which perplexed me. All in all a good offering by Sleeman... err, Unibroue.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The body has a cloudy orange color, the head is nice and thick, too bad it’s going down, it leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma of raspberries and yeast. The flavor is the same, raspberries and yeast. The body has a light to medium thickness with a powdery texture and lively carbonation. As with the other Éphémère it’s a decent fruit beer, not more not less.

On tap, Beer Bistro. Golden orange in glass (it looked like it was glowing - very cool). Small white head. Strong artificial raspberry aroma mixed with yeast - quite appealing. Nice raspberry taste - not sweet but tart. Some artificial and mild though - not tons of flavour going on here. There was almost a gueze like sourness to it that I found quite balanced and subdued, making it better than a one-dimensional fruit beer. A tad watery - keeps it from being really good but as is, a perfect desert to end a great meal at Beer Bistro.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
hazy deep orange/gold with a quickly disipating soapy head. Sweet sugary candy raspberry nose with yeast. Luckly the raspberries are tart rather than syruppy or this would be a complete disaster. Apple, peach, wheat, grass, diet iced tea. Finish is mopped up with a decent carbonation and some fresh raspberry softening out. It is too straight-forward to the point of being dull.
