4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma of apple blossom and honey; lively carbonation, pleasant tartiness; fruit and a bit of bitterness in the lingering aftertaste.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a cloudy light orange. Aroma is mostly apple juice. A little yeast too. Very smooth taste but it is mostly just apple. Still I kinda like it.

UPDATED: APR 28, 2012 This was an extremely surprising, strange and tasty beer. It was very floral and fruity. Interesting.

Aroma is fruity and complex. Basis of sour apple, grapes plus a lot of others. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thick. Taste brings more fruit. Sour with a crisp dry finish mixed with esters from the Belgian yeast.

750ml bottle pu4chased today advertised as "bottle refermented-flavored White Ale on Lees, Ale brewed with apple juice, Coriander, Orange Peel and with natural flavor added", with same artwork as pictured here and no mention of any dominant flavor. Pours a hazy yellow with significant head. Aroma is mostly apple, with some spices. I was expecting a Belgian White and got hard apple cider with some spices instead. Will not try again.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pours boring yellow. Smells like almost nothing, maybe a little sour apple in there. Tastes like a sour, cheaply made, watery bottle of macro brew that’s trying to be fancy. Finish like water. This brew sucks. Beautiful packaging though. Looks like a freaking Maxfield Parrish painting.

Very light, perfect summer beer on a patio, maybe a little too sweet due to apple used in brewing

This brew is the base body of all other fruity Ephemere (without any fruit). It poured a hazy orange-brown colour with a frothy off-white head. As the head dissapeared slowly, a layer of foam was left. The colour is darker then all other Ephemeres. Aromas were of yeast, Belgium sweet malts and spices. The mouth was on the sour side with a slight bitter aftertaste. Had a huge amount of carbonation. This is a great beer a-la-Belgium-Ale-style.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This pours with a sizeable head into a lovely golden colour. Both the aroma and taste suggest green apples, with just that bit of green apple "bite", but at the end is also a tiny hint of sweetness, perhaps the black currant must.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
In short: A way past-due date rotting Belgian blonde ale (no Saison character here)
How: Bottle 341ml. Many years old (5 years?). Given to me by Goldorak
The look: Cloudy ugly dirty dark yellow body topped by a short-lived medium off-white w
In long: The nose is yeasty and as expected mega-oxidized. Taste is a big letdown. I didn’t expect much from such an old beer but I’m one who can like old oxidized Saisons when they still have a wild yeast presence. This one didn’t. Just an old past due-date Belgian blonde ale with over-ripe rotting fruits. I probably drank it when fresh but it was years before my ratebeer years. I had to rate it. This is the only Saison (my favourite style) from the brewery that turned me (and most quebec beer lovers) to craftbeer. Tasted pretty bad for an unflavoured beer. I guess flavour is like body hair, with age you lose the good ones and grow undesired ones.
