(Brewed for the "Metro" supermarket chain); In an abbey great and towery, lived brothers talented in brewery. Ale this heavenly, alas!, led to drinkery...and now its rediscovery! Can you resist temptation?

Reddish dark brown with a giant, small beaded creamy tan head. Sweet and yeasty with some faint dried fruit, chocolate malt, nutty roast, and rubbing alcohol in the nose. It’s not bad, it’s certainly not great. Pepper and some tea, washed out clementine. Some berries and candy sugar. Dull diety iced tea finish. It had potential, but obviously Unibroue has simplified this one.

This was unmistakably Unibroue. I don’t know what is is about their beers, but almost to the last one, they all have a certain distinct taste that is unique to the brewer. I prefered the dark Irresistable to the blonde, but only marginally. For two beers with different colours, the taste was remarkably similar.

Bottle. Brown color without much head. Aroma sticky sweet caramel and roasty malts. Taste is sweet as well with cocoa, toffee, brown sugar and light hops. Decent but not worth going back for. Nice lively mouthfeel.

Dark brown ale with a sweet malty aroma. Light ly vinosu maderized malt, slightly carboardy , but still good, with some notes of coriander and caramel. Medium bodied.

A dark brown colour with a fine lasting tan head. The aroma is sweet malty and so is the flavor, but the flavor also contains roasted bread and caramel. Quite sweet for me.

Molasses colour, smell and taste.Big long lasting tan head. Much superior overall to the nauseating blonde. Some malt and flavorings that overcome mid-sip syrup and yeast. Carmel malt brown sugar. Something different from Unibroue. Spice is moderate. This was interesting for after supper.

Dark molasses colour with a large never-ending biege head. Sweet aroma of fruit and yeast. Malty flavor with a bit of a clove and banana taste (almost identical to the Blonde). Heavily carbonated and not nearly as good as the blonde.
