aspidites (1268), manteca, California, USA Mar 15, 2005 Tart green apples and mild horsblanket nose . Mild balsamic and sourdough breead flavors. Orange and lemon zest soice with mild cloves and allspice. Nice yeasty mouthfeel. Tart acidic finish with some odd spice notes. radiomgb (1776), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Nov 23, 2004 Wow. This was one beer that I have been wanting to try for quite sometime. Huge thanks to Todd for opening this one at Celebration November 2004. Light gold in colour. Aroma of cider, slightly sour, some light malt and some yeast. Flavour was pretty light with some cider vinegar, slightly sweet malt (cookie dough), still some citrus hops (lemon, orange). Still had medium carbonation after all these years, full mouthfeel. Finishes quick. Quit nice still, thanks again Todd. beerhugger (541), Oshawa, Ontario, Canada Nov 10, 2004 Wow, I can’t believe I’m getting to rate this one. Cheers to Todd for starting the night off with this rarity - shared with muzzlehatch, tiggmtl, Rastacouere, radiomgb, DumDum and our host CapFlu. Bottle was found hiding on a shelf and was 1999 ’vintage.’ Somewhat cloudy pale straw yellow with a thin head that left us quickly and for good. Slightly sour cider aromas hit you immediately and then there is some cookie-dough and dry yeastiness too. An oily mouth-coating honey/fruit flavour - some citrus and some pear - leads to a quick finish. Stood up fairly well considering, but a treat no matter the outcome. muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Nov 9, 2004 1999 bottle, shared with CapFlu, tiggmtl, Rastacouere, Beerhugger, Radiomgb, and DumDum in Ottawa. Hazy honey-dry apple cider color...bit cidery, and sour on the nose, lightly malty and yeasty flavor, with honey and a bit of pear, quite sweet. Full, slightly liquorish/oily mouthfeel. Amazingly good for its age...thanks again Todd! tiggmtl (4178), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Nov 9, 2004 Thanks Todd for sharing... Cidery, yeasty, dry, powdery, cookie-dough aroma that is slightly sour. Hazy, golden straw coloured body with thin, white, fully diminishing head. Yeasty cookie-dough, orange-lemon-citrus flavour. Mouthfeel is a touch oily. Medium bodied and very low carbonation. Though obviously past its prime, this was still a treat to have sampled. Bottle enjoyed with beerhugger, CapFlu, DumDum, muzzlehatch, radiomgb and Rastacouere.
