COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With La Bolduc, Unibroue recreated an "Old Style" beer reminiscent of the 1950s. A natural and refreshing beer.

This has been sitting in my fridge about 6 months. That’s how excited I was to drink it.

But now I realize, I’ve finished it and forgot to rate it. Was a bit stressed and distracted. You know the game. Anyway, it wasn’t too bad. Slightly bland, perhaps, not really exhibiting good hops or anything, but enjoyable non-the-less, and no off flavors.

on tap at the mondiale ’07. Well what can i say. Its a Pils. Nothing too exciting here, just a well made good solid pils. that pretty much sums it up.

french tickler (649) - Aylmer, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 5, 2007
Blond with reddish hue. Foamy off white head. Aromas of corn, caramel and fresh yeast. Medium bodied and very easy to drink. Nice dry palate with a slightly bitter finish. Nice effervescence, nothing aggressive. Very refreshing indeed.

Bouteille. Couleur or légèrement cuivrée. Mousse mince qui devient un mince lacet. Arôme légèrement houblonné et malté. Goût de houblons, sucré, bonne amertume. Arrière-goût assez long.

(Rating #935)

Bottle - draught glass. I don’t think it’s changed all that much, but a lot of the appeal went away when they quit using the old-style stubby bottles for this one.

Kulminator, Antwerp. jbrus and skortila allowed me a sip from their glass. Vinous aroma and flavor. Grapes. Thin. Probably past its peak.

[2nd Low Countries RateBeer meeting] Malty aroma. Past expiration date. Hazy, yellow coloured with a medium, white head. Taste is quite empty/watery. Bit sweet malt and some hopbitterness. But not much more.

Bottled, Kulminator. Light malty aroma. Hazy, yellow color, white head, good lace. Maltsweet but that’s about it. The surprising thing was that it was way past is expiration date and still quite ok.

[bottle] Clear yellowish/gold color with a tall, lumpy head. Some sweet apple in the aroma. More on the light, malty end of things. Finishes with a nice subtle hop finish. This is a great pils, but I do wish it had more of the usual Unibroue characterics.
