Bottle. Pours golden and cloudy with a big foaming head that settles into a thin persistent white band. Banana dominates the aroma (not my favorite characteristic), but there is also some lemon, yeastiness, and even some alcohol. The flavor is far more complex. All the above flavors are there (still a bit too much banana for me), but there are lots of other interesting elements: some spiciness (clove and lots of coriander), a little musty funkiness. It starts a bit sweet and ends quite dry. Very creamy on the tongue. I can appreciate this, but it’s not my favorite set of flavors.

FCBF 09. Pretty good tripel but a bit too spicy for my taste. it’s very pleasant though with nice flavors of oranges and well integrated alcohol, a smooth body.

Had a bad day at work and this was a great beer!!!! Pours pale with white head. Complex aroma and the taste is just as complex and cleverly disguised the alcohol! Thank you Canada!

Draft. Pours hazy golden orange with frothy off white head that hangs around for the ride. Such a complex aroma and flavor, there’s no way I can justify what this brings to the table. Aroma of citrus, alcohol, spice, yeast, banana. Flavor includes all of the above and then some bread and more that I need to put my finger on in later tastes. The alcohol is definitely there but mostly hidden by the flavors. Complex, tasty, and enjoyable- fun to drink and discuss, and even more fun once the 9% ABV catches up.

An intensely flavorful, complex beer. The flavor is intensely varied and you’ll note different flavors as you continue drinking and as it warms. Alcohol becomes more prevalent near the end of the glass. Otherwise, the typical flavors you’d expect are here: spice, clove, some citrus notes. Also some darker fruit notes near the end. A very interesting Canadian tripel.

A simply fantastic beer... have had it many times and it is absolutely one of my favorite beers. I would easily place it in my top 10.

Currently my favorite beer on the planet. Flavorful enough to make you forget the high alcohol volume and keep you drinking till the room starts spinning.

750ml bottle poured into a pint glass. Has a hazy yellow-orange color with a head with big bubbles that sticks around for a few minutes. Lots going on in the aroma but its surprisingly not overpowering: Spices, bananas, citrus, yeast and malty sweetness. So many different flavors hitting the tongue all at once its hard to distinguish them all: Sweet, malty, spicy, fruity sourness with a bit of an alcohol bite at the end. Has good carbonation and lots of malty creaminess to it. The complex flavors do a good job hiding the 9% ABV. By the time I’m done the bottle I’ll be felling it. First time I had one a few months ago, when I was starting to widen my tastes in beer, I was thrown off by the taste so much that I couldn’t finish it. Never had I tasted a beer so complex before. After trying it a few more times I’ve learn to appreciate this brew quite a bit. Be warned, this is not a gateway beer for those new to craft.
