| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 6, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy, pale orange, thick, long-lasting white head, soapy lacing. Aroma is yeast and sweet fruit (tangerine, grapes and orange). Sweet fruit (same as above) and the ever present Unibroue yeast signature dominate the flavor profile, some very subtle spice notes (coriander, maybe clove ?). Finish is dry and yeasty. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 31, 2009 Pours a hazy golden/orange with sizeable white head. Very fruity aroma, lots of carbonation, spices, yeast evident. Slight bit of alcohol comes through in the finish, which is moderately dry. Good offering from Unibrou, but to me is does not fit the "Abbey Tripel" style. More like a fruity version of a Duvel. Davros (219), Australia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 30, 2009 Updated: May 31, 2009Gusher. Amber pour, lots of yeast particles. Large, persistent, off-white head.
Aroma is mostly belgian doughy yeast and some spicy phenols. Subtle alcohol, citrus, banana and hops also present.
Flavour is more of the Unibroue doughy yeast, mild grassy hops and a hint of lemon. A solid, but not over the top, punch of alcohol follows.
Strong alcoholic warming on the palate. Creamy body but too much carbonation.
Take your time with this one, more flavour comes through once the carbonation has died down a little. andersand (353), Malmö, Sweden
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2009 Pretty good tripel but a bit too spicy for my taste, that combined with the Unibroue house yeast character makes it somewhat hard to drink. Other wise it’s very pleasant though with nice flavours of oranges and well integrated alcohol, a smooth body and a sexy look. Ceebs25 (226), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 25, 2009 12 oz bottle. Big malts, yeast, and a hint of alcohol in the aroma as expected. Pretty nice aroma overall though, with more specifically pale grain malts, yeasty butter crackers, a slightly mix of grain and vinous alcohol, some herbal hop qualities and some other light spices. Pour was nice, though not over-the-top like others of the style can be, with a wispy milk white head, good retention and lacing, cloudy body and orange gold in color. No real surprises in the drinking of this beer either, but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing when beers actually live up to your exact expectations. But anyway, medium body, a good tripel bite to it, and very good balance. Flavor is a good combination of Belgian blonde pale malts, a nice herbal grass bitterness that spreads and balances the whole way through, minor citrus orange, yeasty crackers and popcorn, and some various savory spices. So even though its really nothing too mind-blowing, it is still a very nice Belgian style ale. SAVertigo (15), Shillington, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 25, 2009 Incredible beer from Unibroue.
When you live in a state with backwards liquor laws like PA, and you have to buy cases of beer, because the nearest bottle shop is either across state lines or over an hour drive, its beers like this that make you happy duriing "blind buys".
The tripel smell is present here, notes of honey/sugar and cloves are very present on it.
Pour is a nice hazy tripel yellow with a nice foam head.
Tastes : Delicious. Very good version of a tripel, refreshingly sweet. Has a great overall presentation, and a fantastic aftertaste.
This is one beer that will always have a place in my home. mike67 (78), , New Jersey, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 25, 2009 Pours a hazy golden with a nice foamy head. Aroma is yeasty and fruity, one could smell tripel. Sweet fruity flavor upfront with a lingering dry finish. Flavorful, complex, balanced excellent brew. boscoja1 (14), gainesville, Florida, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 23, 2009 Sweetly stale citrusy aroma. Cloudy orange-yellow appearance. Light, crisp, citrus flavor without the syrupy taste of some tripels I’ve tried. Very nice, crisp and refreshing beverage.
