Lots of fruit - citrus and banana - and spice in both the aroma and flavor. The formidable alcohol content only registers as a warming in the gullet upon the finish. Such a stellar Belgian-esque beer for both the price and availability jrt (62), USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 9, 2009 At 9.79 a 4 pack, La Fin Du Monde is a bargain. That’s as much beer as two 750ml’s of Westmalle tripel, but less than half the price. And I think it would be held in higher esteem by bierdos if it wasn’t so ubiquitous. Anyway, it’s as sweet, fruity, and yeasty as you would expect from a tripel but with a spritzier mouthfeel and a sharp, dry aftertaste. Papillon (172), Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 9, 2009 Updated: Apr 11, 2009341 mL Bottle. Murky gold body with a small but tenacious foamy head that kept the beer’s surface covered all the way to the last sip and coated the sides with very good lacing. The aroma is a bouquet of apricot, hints of banana and melons, spices, and the alcohol comes through with that 9-octane. The alcohol also comes through in the flavor, not in a way that assaults the senses but in a way that asserts: "Hey! My octane is 9, sip me like wine; don’t guzzle me". Otherwise, the flavor is like a fruit salad in a bottle; apricot, peach, banana, green grapes, and plums followed by a citrusy aftertaste and a creamy-spicy finish. A great sipping beer for those tenacious wintry days that linger into the spring months. DandyWolfFloyd (331), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 5, 2009 The aroma is definitely with a yeasty, citrus, and slight alcohol aroma. La Fin maintains an excellent full white head, over a cloudy golden color, finishing with a nice lace. It’s flavor is full of citrus, yeast, alcohol properties, and some spice. The finish is smooth, a little too smooth, got me in a heap of trouble. The carbonation is well balanced, and the flavors aren’t too strong. Just right jimhilt (1678), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 4, 2009 An excellent beer from Unibroue, cloudy amber color, not a lot of nose but good carbonation and frothy head that leaves a good lace. Higher ABV is hidden. Flavor is sweet citrus and yeast, smooth. $5.79 for a caged and corked 750ml bottle from Concord Cooperative Market Concord, NH. KornDogg (192), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 3, 2009 La Fin du Monde smells like a strong hefeweizen with spicy notes. It also pours like one with plenty of short-lived frothiness and cloudiness. A warming alcohol glow permeates the clove, spice, and apricot flavors. The palate is deceptively light, probably a result of the triple fermentation. While lacking the firmness and character of Aventinus (still my reference for strong wheat beers), this is still a well-balanced, enjoyable beer. floydian1 (280), FNQ, Australia

A hazy golden ale with a decent sized white head. Strong aromas of malty honey and oranges. Full mouthfeel with smooth taste of oranges, honey and nice warming spicy yeasts. The finish is quite dry. Nicely integrated flavours and very drinkable given the ABV. These Canadians know their stuff!
