Tastes of clove, banana, citrus, and a taste of the heavens. Active carbonation and tantalizing on the palate. All in all this is a great abbey tripel that is easy to drink and available at many stores. gyllenbock (267), Stockholm, Sweden
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 10, 2009 Bottle. Golden/orange color, white head that didn´t last for a long time.
A lot of warming alcohol on the fellow. Yeast, grape, perfume, malt, honey, a nice mild acidity. Well balanced. A very good beer! gorditoabd (171), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 4, 2009 Bottle. Pours golden-orange with ample, fizzy, lasting champagne head. Aroma is sweet and tart at once, like oranges, grapefruits, and lemons all squeezed together. It almost reminded be of a sour ale when I first popped it open. Initial taste is sufficiently bitter, all malt and citrus notes. Good, but a little out of balance? I agree with the rater who posted about there being a somewhat medicinal quality. It’s definitely there, but I think it’s just the high ABV occasionally peeking through. Not a bad beer. Definitely nice for a cooler night here in San Diego. KyotoLefty (1410), Kyoto, Japan

Strong citrus in the nose, particularly grapefruit. Yeasty flavor with honey and citrus, slightly somewhat medicinal and a bit too sweet but decent enough for a new world tripel.

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 2, 2009 Electric orange, maybe in color, with a thin white head, lots of fruit in the aroma and taste, well balanced malt sweetness, good banana and spice notes on the palate. A real pleasant surprise. jonno (572), Brisbane, Australia
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 1, 2009 Wow. For someone who doesn’t normally appreciate this style I was very surprised by this. Lots of apricot, apple and other fresh fruits on the tongue. Very complex. The only thing that i could say badly about it was that it was a bit over carbonated and felt a bit ’spritzy’ in the mouth. Otherwise fantastic. cfrancis (314), Gloucester, Ontario, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 29, 2009 I find this beer too sharp on the alcohol and too short on the flavour. Nose is alcohol and malt. Taste is yeast, malt and alcohol. There is a fair bite to the alcohol and a lot of the fruitiness doesn’t come through as it should. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 28, 2009 Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle in an elongated tulip glass. The beer pours the expected straw-colored yellowish/light golden color with a substantial and long-lasting fluffy white head. The nose brings characters of tropical fruits and a touch of just-barely grainy pilsner malt. The palate is relatively light on the palate, belying the beer’s strength. I got strong notes of passion fruit/pearish esters, a nice level of malt complexity that alternated between pilsner grainyness and some deeper and more malty characters, and a high level of carbonation that helped to cleanse the palate. Overall, very well crafted, and just short of the greatest examples of the style.
