Heavy and sweet initially and then just seconds later nothing on the palate and just a little burn in the throat. Ultimately, not too shabby. sketchmind (17), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

The initial attack is of yeast, over ripe apricot, some wood and light fruit. Though I tasted some mild soapiness, perhaps a breakdown of fatty acid. Perhaps it was the glass (I was not at home). Still a lot of fermentation leads to some excellent CO2.
Fruity dry finish, light hop. This beer has a decent mouthfeel and subtle alcohol taste for it’s content.
Complex flavor. But not as enjoyable as I expected. Though I’m not sure I had a fair shake at it. DerBiermeister (516), Birmingham, Alabama, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 27, 2008 A beautiful beer. Cloudy golden orange color with moderate white head that really lasts and has good lacing. Aroma is light, with citrus, coriander and yeast. Flavor is much stronger than the aroma, with continued citrus, some banana, bread and floral notes and some spice in the finish. I have to disagree a bit with the poster below me--I think the flavor actually hides the 9% ABV very well. It is medium to full bodied with a smooth creamy mouthfeel. A very nice beer and a surprisingly good representative of the style. Has a classic belgian tripel aroma, fruits (apple, apricots and banana) and spice, but not too heavy.
The flavour is something of a letdown, it is absolutely dominated by the alcohol and the other flavours are a little too light to really stand up to it.
It is a pleasant beer to sip, but I prefer a subtler, less alcoholic tripel like the underrated Grimbergen Blonde.
On my second try at a beer and cheese tasting I combined it with a very strong cheddar (Lincolnshire Poacher’s Full Bore) and it really transformed the experience. ansermadide (508), Kyle, Texas, USA

Lots of carbonation. Frothy, carbonated white head. Taste is also reminiscent of a weissbier. Slight citrus with spice. Aroma is sweet with similar accents. Seems light for a tripel. Very easy to drink. mattmc1973 (305), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 24, 2008 12 oz bottle, poured gold with frothy white head, which mostly dissipated and left light lacing. Aroma of malt, yeast, apple, citrus...very sweet smell. Taste is sweet with a crisp, dry finish. Light to medium bodied, with fizzy mouthfeel. A very good non-Belgian tripel, a great example of the style. Tasty! fluffy (229), Florida, USA
