The variance from batch to batch is a little unnerving. Caramel and fruit, clean finish for any abbey, very little alcohol seems present. Weedking4 (33), Stratford, Ontario, Canada

Seriously? No hint of the alc.% at all. Very solid beer all around. Definately a fruity taste to the after taste. Very nice beer. durhambeer (1206), Durham, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 25, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours yellow with slightly bright amber tint. White head that fades disappointing quickly. Funky Unibroue yeast and lots of Belgian sugar. Orange and orange peel, but less lemon/apple/pear complexity than I hoped for. Some banana and clove. Overall, though more sweet than tart or sour. Finishes semi dry, but tasty. Lovely soft palate. I typically don’t dig Unibroue yeast flavors too much, but this is one of the better ones. bblack99 (202), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 22, 2009 Amber? Did I have a different beer than the last two raters? Mine was a fizzy straw yellow with a pillowy white head.
Fruity (banana?), yeasty, and musty aroma with a flavor of golden raisins and some orange peel. Also a twist of typical belgian spices and a drying finish. Light, effervescent, and not too heavy on the alcohol notes despite the ABV.
This is the first Unibroue beer I’ve had that I’ve actually liked! Nice work. chandler0201 (341), Durham, North Carolina, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2009 750 mL bottle from Von’s (good price at $5.99). Pours a light prune-amber color with a finger and a half of white head. Aroma of bready malts, musty yeast, pepper, and light citrus. Flavor is lightly sweet with yeast, dusty malts, spices, and fruit (citrus, peach). Light mouthfeel and dry finish with a hint of hoppy bitterness and light alcohol burn. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 17, 2009 Pours cloudy golden, with a lasting two-finger beige head, good lacing. Aroma of citrus, biscuit, clove, banana and tobacco. Medium body, tart, velvety and smooth. Citrus and banana flavor, rich biscuit malt, clove and cardamom, and a note of straw. Tart finish balances out the sweetness.
