UPDATED: JAN 31, 2013 This poured a hazy sunshine yellow with a tall head of loose bubbles that receded to an attractive collar and cap. Good lacing and alcohol legs. On the nose is plenty of yeast, sweet malt, sugary lemon and tangerine. On the palate itís buttery smooth, spritzy carbonation and a little thin. It reminds you of a hefe with a little banana but itís too sticky and the alcohol warms you and gives it away that this is a tripel. Short sweet finish, no hops on the palate at all. Understated and bewitching. This is a very well turned out tripel that would meet the end of the world with an attitude of aplomb.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tulip today. I canít read the best by date. A: Orange, lemon, and banana. It smells like a hef with spices. A: 3 finger fluffy head with an easy pour. Cloudy orange body with bubbles streaming up. T: Orange, lemon zest, peach, and cloves dominate. Egg yolk and almost a cinnamon back end are subtle. P: Creamy smooth with a crisp finish. Thick mouthfeel. O: The flavors are so complex and well balanced that itís hard to pick apart. Itís on the sweet side, but balanced by spices on the finish. I hate tripels, but this is awesome.

Bottle from December, 2013 - Pours hazy golden body with somewhat orange hue. Massive white head, great retention. Initial aroma of fresh apples, spices, particularly cloves, and banana. Scents of yeast and raisins are layered throughout. Fruity flavors of pear and apple combined with herbaceous, doughy bread taste. Solid carbonation as evidenced by the relentless upward stream of bubbles and prickly mouthfeel. Dry, slightly bitter finish; however, there is an enduring, honey-sweet aftertaste. Alcohol definitely becomes more pronounced as it warms.

BBD 10/1/17. Pours a hazy gold with a touch of amber. World class head volume and retention, outstanding lacing. Classic tripel nose with a bit of clove and subtle sweet fruit notes. Medium body with a bit of creaminess. Nicely carbonated with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a nice prickly rush in the finish. The flavor profile is intense, somewhat complex and somewhat balanced. It begins with some fruit flavors that are quickly overcome by phenolic clove. Phenolic clove dominates from almost the start. The middle brings a bit of malt sweetness but never achieves balance. The somewhat dry finish has a medicinal clove characteristic that lingers. Alcohol also shows a bit of astringency as an aftertaste as it warms.

Draft. Glad to finally rate this after having it several times before. Nice straw/gold with a solid white head. Grainy with lots of fruit notes throughout, specifically a juicy pear and apricot thing happening. Very full body. I really enjoy this beer.

Have had this several times. Golden brew, with a large head. No taste of alcohol outside of the warming portion. Semi-sweet, a bit of spice, super well balanced. My personal favorite brew so far and it has been for a good while.

330ml bottle. Appearance: Cloudy pale golden with a frothy white foam cap. Aroma: Strong clove phenols dominate over fruity esters of banana and pineapple. Taste: Sweet rich maltiness and banana esters up front. Strong clove phenols. Typical pear esters appear on the swallow. Motuthfeel: Medium body with some creaminess and moderately high carbonation. Not as carbonated as some other tripels, but also avoids alcohol heat. Finish: Clove spice on the swallow, but banana and pear esters longer long after. Overall: Aroma is good but maybe not as strong as some other world class tripels. Really well balanced flavor profile

Alcoholic and spicy notes, with a hint of cereal. Golden in the glass with a rich head. No distinguishable hops, instead, harmonious overall impression. Perfectly carbonated.

Pours a beautiful golden color with a bubbly white head. Amazing how the aroma spreads in the air when opened! Almost champagne like carbonation with notes of pear and grass. Very refreshing and deceptively strong.
