UPDATED: JAN 31, 2013 This poured a hazy sunshine yellow with a tall head of loose bubbles that receded to an attractive collar and cap. Good lacing and alcohol legs. On the nose is plenty of yeast, sweet malt, sugary lemon and tangerine. On the palate it’s buttery smooth, spritzy carbonation and a little thin. It reminds you of a hefe with a little banana but it’s too sticky and the alcohol warms you and gives it away that this is a tripel. Short sweet finish, no hops on the palate at all. Understated and bewitching. This is a very well turned out tripel that would meet the end of the world with an attitude of aplomb.

Gold appearance with big head. Aroma is yeasty and sweet. Taste is very sweet, mostly biscuits, yes, but also citrus. Tastes like Aprilosenroulade. Fine brew!

La Fin Du Monde pours a completely cloudy sunset light orange with a decent beige head that doesn’t last too long. The aroma is light citrus with lost of biscuits. The flavor is biscuits with light fruit and possibly apricot. Overall this is a lovely beer.

Wife got this draft at Madrone’s in Frederick, MD. Served in a tulip glass, hazy amber’ish-golden color with white head. Aroma of citrusy yeast, wheat malt, banana, clove and fruit (apples, pear, white grapes). Taste adds notes of candy sugar, pepper, toffee and light spices. Medium body, moderate carbonation, soft with dry yeast finish. Very tasty tipel.

Fiche technique Style: Triple Belge Format: 341 ml Taux d?alcool : 9%

Bottle shared with Kouji & my buddy Nie. Served in a tulip. A lovely vibrant gold with a creamy white. A fantastic juicy spicy orange aroma with good spicy yeast character. Soft carbonation & a smooth mouthfeel. The taste is wheat, orange, cloves very well balanced. A fantastically well made beer. It was really dangerously drinkable for 9%

A very nice belgian style. Pours a very cloudy orange with a white head. Smells of citrus and lemon merengue pie. Taste is complex and layered, with lots of herbs and citrus, and a wheaty, creamy finish. Had in tap at Sonoma Public House.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer & Beyond, Tel Aviv. Hazy Golden-yellow with medium white head. The aroma is yeasty, fruity (banana, pear), sweet, soapy. The flavor is very sweet, yeasty, banana notes, a bit alcoholic, spicy, light sour semi-dry finish. Medium carbonation, medium to full-bodied.

APPEARANCE - Opaque amber with a 4-finger head that lasts. A bit of lacing. AROMA/SCENT - Sweet, malty, fruity, herbaceous. TASTE - Hoppy, piney, herbaceous, a little sweet. ABV well-hidden. MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - A bit of carbonation. VALUE - Import price -- but it’s only Canada! OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - Very quaffable.

Strong, rich and complex with lots of fruit on the nose and a hefty dose of yeast on the tongue. Noticeable warmth from alcohol but not in the taste. Very pleasant.

750 ml bottle into signature tulip glass, best before 3/28/2017. Pours lightly hazy deep golden color with a 2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, pear, apple, apricot, pineapple, orange peel, banana, coriander, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, candi sugar, herbal, grass, light bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Incredible complexity and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, pear, apple, apricot, pineapple, orange zest, banana, coriander, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, candi sugar, herbal, grass, light bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of earthy yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon. pear, apple, apricot, pineapple, orange zest, banana, coriander, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, candi sugar, herbal, grass, light bubblegum, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Insane complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt flavors; with a pretty much perfect yeast/spice/malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly prickly/dry mouthfeel that is incredible. Alcohol is extremely well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a world class tripel style. All around insane complexity and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the big ABV. An absolutely amazing offering.
