From a 12oz Bottle. Twist off cap. Pours a hazy, ripened banana skin yellow color with a finger of fizzy white head. The head falls apart rather quickly, but a steady stream of bubbles keeps churning up the center of the wispy film, encouraged by the D in my Duvel glass, letting me know it’s still alive. A vigorous swirl churns up a renewed serving of frothy white, but it recedes back to the prior state in a relatively short-lived time. An earthy Belgian yeast presence makes it’s self known instantly, bringing out notes of shittake mushrooms, bright pepper, and a smidgen of bandaid. A distinct, citrusy, candied orange aroma also appears, along with some herbal coriander. As it warms, the fruit notes become more forward, as does the coriander. I’m getting a nice little squeeze of lime and gentle cardomom. Light bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel that melts across the tongue with a soft, creamy wheatiness. Silky palate with a touch of wheat acidity. Some of that spicy yeast character jumps out right away, tickling the palate, and the subtle bandaid quality from the nose is still there, but only noticeable when looking for it - the pepper characters tend to dominate. Not nearly as fruity or sweet as in the nose. The coriander notes get a bit too strong for me in the finish, and although it results in an expceptionally dry conclusion, I find it gets a bit too herbal. Pretty enjoyable overall, but I have a hard time getting into the yeast characters of Unibroue beers in general (this one being no exception) and the coriander flavor is too much for me.

Orange with a grey head. Orange-like aroma combined with yeast. Sweet flavours dominated by sugar, peach, pepper and yeast. It’s refreshing and powerful. A nice tripel.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy honey color with one finger creamy head. Nose is cloves, yeast and fruit bubblegum. Taste is tangy citrus, spicy Belgian yeast and a souring finish that fades into sweet fruits again. Medium mouth feel. An easier drinker but quite warming at 9%.

Golden wheat color with little head. Very malty and bitter. Strong flavor of cloves and coriander. Velvety feel on the tongue. Alcohol is slightly noticable. Taste definitely improved as it warmed.

Crushed with Jakebra. Malty as hell. Not quite sure what to make of it. Wheat beer tendencies for sure. Definitely had better beers from Unibroue. The triple fermentation is impressive, but there’s something weird going on here that doesn’t agree, aight?
