4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAY 13, 2007 Bottle, served in Duvel glass at Fresh Starts, Flossmoor, IL. Cloudy yellow, with a fluffy white head. First smell impression is of a bit of orange juice, then diluted honey. Beyond the usual candi sugar taste is something complex and hard to distinguish; a horsey bit, perhaps, and staled hops. As I go further down, it gets pretty heady. Picks up a bit of a wit note, too, leading to a white wine finish. The bottle was dated "best by 11-17-07," so I’m guessing it’s pretty young, and may have been different just a few months later. Very expertly poured by the bartender to leave most of the yeast in the bottle. A most excellent and intriguing brew.

Smells of breads sweet malts and dark fruits like cherry and plum. Super cloudy orangeyellow color with two finger white head that dissipates fairly quickly some lacing. Taste of sweet malts cherry flavor and bready flavor sweet smooth wet finish. Medium body with toasty crisp carbonation that give me the burps. All in all this brew is very tasty and complex I’ve been putting this beer off for years but glad I wanted to my palate to mature because I really enjoy this beer now. Nice brew!
