Flavor is a bit vinous, sour cherries, plums, yeast, bread, lots of pleasant frutiness. Nice, typical unibroue bubble mouthfeel. Been looking for it ever since the dude said it wasn’t "terrible", and I am impressed. maoglone (1), Kentucky, USA does not count | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Mar 2, 2009 This is a good, solid beer. Its scent is somewhat sweet, and has an oaky sort of personality to it. The first drink is a bit sweet, and just about as thick and creamy, almost bready, as I typically like in a heavier dark beer. Overall, it’s a pleasant beer to drink--but please share its hugeness with a couple other people. 750 mL in one go was a bit much for me, as I didn’t have a good way to re-seal the bottle, and wasn’t drinking with friends at the time. There’s much to be said for planning. BillKismet (1903), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Black amber with thick, rich foamed top. Vein of sweet malt taps the nose, hints of wood, touch of sourness, and sweet yeastiness round out the bouquet. Pleasant medley of medium, sweet, and toasted malts, moderate yeastiness, caramel, and swell breadiness endow this brew with a rich, easy-going complexity that belies its potency. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 25, 2009 Absolute beauty of a beer; deep chestnut in color with a true meringue head with stiff peaks and valleys. Milky clumps of suds cling tightly to the inside of the glass. Aroma is fairly subtle, with not a lot in the nose but sweet malt and Belgian yeast. Flavor also isn’t aggressive but the alcohol is invisible. Roasted malt, caramel, and toffee...not Terrible but not terrific either. ThaBobfather (178), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Very nice fruity aroma, sugar plummy. Full bodied. Malty flavor, raisin notes. Drawn out alcohol finishes vanilla-y. Not too bad at all....
